5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Edition!, May 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The OZ Chronicles (Borders Leatherbound Classics, Volume 1) (Leather Bound)
This is a beautiful book. Very nciely bound and on beautiful pages. If I had 1 complaint it is that I thougth it had pictures, it does not. Which will make it a little hard to read to my girls and keep them entertained, but other than that, for the money, a truly beautiful addition to our library at home!

5.0 out of 5 stars a keepsake book, March 27, 2010
This review is from: The OZ Chronicles (Borders Leatherbound Classics, Volume 1) (Leather Bound)
This is a beautiful book that includes the first 7 books/stories in the Oz series by L. Frank Baum, including the classic "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" that started the series. This is a limited edition book, published by Borders in 2003 (there are a total of 3 volumes, another book which includes the other 7 books in the series and a final volume that includes other stories by L. Frank Baum). The book is hard cover, leather bound and includes a gold leaflet and a silk place holder. There aren't any pictures in the book, except for the map of Oz found on the inside of the cover. This is a fantastic book to give for anyone that enjoys the Oz series or it would make a great gift for a anyone that collects beautifully bound books. If you enjoy books in the Oz series, I also recommend The Annotated Wizard Oz, published in 2000. The stories are all imaginative and highly detailed. L. Frank Baum was a very rare writer that could articulate his thoughts onto paper that captivated his readers. Although he was during his time a children's writer, his stories are classic and timeless and there's a quality to them that everyone can relate to in some way or another.
