5.0 out of 5 stars Oak Bluffs
This story was amazing! Not only was it a great romance and relationship story but there was history in the mix about black cowboys and Native americans. This mix made this story even more amazing. Love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Touching
This is the first novel I've read by Mrs. Early...it's an OKAY read...it's TOUCHING...with a very COLORFUL description of Martha's Vineyard that makes me feel like I'm right there...it's a bit slow at times...but the characters and the storyline are INTRIGUING enough to keep me turning the pages to UNCOVER the mystery surrounding Monroe Faulkner.

This book, although a bit slow at times and a bit shallow on the peripheral character development, was a sweet and enjoyable read.

Lacey Daigle has a deeply rooted bloodline; she boasts African-American, Native-American and Caribbean heritage, and she honors all of them. She recently terminated prestigious employment in a five star New York hotel to return to Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard to fulfill her grandfather's dream.

Lacey, armed with her vision and the blessings of her paternal grandmother, has plans to establish and operate a riding camp for girls. Her primary battles are with her 'socially status-driven' mother and her ex-fiancé. Lacey ended their engagement because he refused to support her. Coupled with her desperate need for success is her equally desperate need to prove both of them wrong.

Things begin to fall in place for Lacey, and she knows once her riding instructor arrives things will be perfect. Lacey is surprised and maybe a little baffled when the instructor arrives. From their conversations, she expected an older white man, not this young virile African-American cowboy. The story gets interesting when Lacey and Monroe, Mr. Cowboy, immediately lock horns, mainly because of the uncontrollable the electricity they feel. Lacey's confusion and suspicion are founded, although Monroe is an excellent instructor, something is not quite right. Lacey learns too late that Monroe has a secret. Is it too much to overcome? A major loss sends Lacey's emotional life into a tailspin, and she finds herself struggling to find some stability.

OAK BLUFFS is quite descriptive; Ms. Early brings Martha's Vineyard to life. The characters are interesting and the storyline touching. The romance surrounding the story magnified the history of Black cowboys, Native-Americans and the diverse mixture of Martha's Vineyard. This combination help make the story an enjoyable read.
