Not worth the money,
This review is from: Oakdale Confidential (Hardcover)
First off, I was disappointed that the 50th Anniversary would be celebrated with a fictional book. But, I heard it would deal with the history of the show. It doesn't. At all.
It features very few ATWT characters and virtually no Hughes family members. Tom, Bob, Kim, and Casey were completely ignored. This might be a good read for someone who likes cheesy romance novels or skating mysteries, but true ATWT fans will absolutely hate it!

A true soap opera murder mystery,
By Nancy "Nancy" (Tennessee) - See all my reviews

This book was a true soap opera style murder mystery-without the months of angst waiting on the killer to be found. It includes a lot of crazy twists with an ending that is sure to surprise you.

It's all in fun,

The book may not be the best written book to hit the market, but it is a fun read that ties nicely in to what is going on on the Soap. If you are expecting the best novel of the year, this book is not for you. If you want a fun, easy read tied to your favorite soap, go for it. I like knowing that I have read the book that is shaking up my favorite town.

Ties nicely to the storyline,
By Suzanne Jackson "Suzanne Jackson" (St Louis, MO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Oakdale Confidential (Hardcover)
This book is a supplement to the show, so if you don't watch the show this book is not for you. That said, it is an easy read as the viewer already knows the characters and can easily visualize the antics the three main characters are pulling. Yes, the Hughes are not the main focus of the story. However, various Hughes family members are mentioned often.

waste of time & a BIG disappointment,
By DeathSex9 "B" (virginia,us) - See all my reviews

This book was a complete waste of time & money.
I thought I might be "missing out" on something pertinent to the show if i didn't pick up a copy for myself. Not sure if this was a ploy to make more money for their company or WHAT...but THIS BOOK WAS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. There were no seriously juicy "histories"...basically, it's all about Katie, Maddie & Carly teaming up to figure out a who-dun-it murder. They all believe their significant others (in maddie's case, it's Henry) "could" be the killer...but want to prove otherwise. *yawn* I agree, "don't bother".

Hi - I watch As the World Turns, so this was something I wanted to get to see what the hype was about. This book is easy to read and is a fun story. If you've followed the soap for years, you'll get lots of the information that this book has to offer. Fun read too-Enjoy!

I really liked this book..It kept me guessing who the killer was...I like not knowing who the killer is until the end, then the last chapter kept changing! I liked that!

Not a ATWT watcher,

I love books -- I got this book on a whim when I walked into a book store and saw it on display. The author: Anonymous, got my attention. I do not watch ATWT, so this may be the reason I loved the book. I read over the weekend while being stuck in airports. Good, fast, read, with some twists and bends that make you think!~.

like a soap opera,
This review is from: Oakdale Confidential (Hardcover)
This book is just like the daily shows in content and storyline. I enjoyed it and didn't have to wait for the next installment. However, unlike the show, when it was finished there was no more. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys ATWT on a daily basis.

I really enjoyed the book. It was a mystery novel about a wealthy family in Oakdale. In the beginning the son from the wealthy family is murdered at a celebration for the family. The rest of the novel is about Katie, Carly, and Maddie investigating the murder to prove that Mike, Jack, and Henry are innocent. They do incorporate previous experiences that actually happened on the soap opera itself, which I enjoyed. Overall it was a great novel. I even gave it to my husband to read once I was done.
