Motocross O-Frame Goggles

When you’re waiting at the gate and the adrenalin is pumping, you probably won’t be thinking about the scratch-resistant Lexan lens that gives you a wide-open view of the track. Or the triple-layer face foam that wicks away your sweat. Or the competition ready design that includes a non-slip silicone treated strap and a mounting interface for Oakley laminated tearoffs, the most advanced tearoff system on the planet (sold separately). These goggles are compatible with Attack Mask nose guard.

Durable Construction, Comfortable Fit

Get flexibility even in extreme cold via the urethane frame construction, with the scratch resistance and optical clarity of Lexan lens material. The flexible O-Matter frame delivers a maximized peripheral view. The triple-layer face foam and silicon lining on the inside of the strap provide a secure and stable fit on the face, and the adjustable elastic strap is easy to wear for long periods outdoors.

Optional Iridium Coating

O-Frame MX comes with a choice of three lens tints. The all-purpose Clear lens of O-Frame MX goggles allows the maximum amount of light through for the most accurate representation of your environment. The Dark Grey tint is for medium to bright light, and reduces light levels with a neutral transmission for truer color perception. And the Clear lens with anti-fog treatment provides the clarity benefits of the Clear lens, with the added benefit of anti-fog treatment for better performance in humid environments. Some models of the O-Frame include the glare reduction and tuned light transmission of an optional Iridium lens coating that provides even more performance outdoors.

This review is written to benefit those wondering if this non-OTG O-frame goggle can be used as an OTG (Over the Glasses) goggle. Everybody else can skip this review.
First some background--I'm a winter bike commuter with flimsy wire-rim glasses who got tired of cold eyes on bitter cold morning commutes. I tried several solutions--Bobster Phoenix OTG (Which are WONDERFUL goggles, but the lenses are too curved near the edges, and hit/pushed against my glasses. Returned. Next tried DeWalt Concealer clear goggles, which I kept as utility goggles, but won't use to commute--they don't fit well with the (Bell) road helmet, and the face rubber gasket cuts into my nose terribly during the commute. Next, I tried Smith Optics SME OTG goggles, which I LOVE for the price. They work well with my flimsy wire-rim glasses, fit decently well against my helmet, and along with a balaclava have made my commute quite pleasant. They're quite big, but I'm beyond trying to make style statements.
Now, enter the Oakley O-Frame MX goggles. I bought them on an impulse when I saw them as a Gold-box deal. I couldn't see anyone in reviews really disussing whether they worked as OTG except for a few vague "they won't work with glasses" comments. What prompted me to try them was the availability of less-than-ten-bucks replacement tinted lenses, which will be nice once days get longer.
So...do these work over glasses? Absolutely not. Can they be made to work with glasses with a little effort? Yes. The clear lenses are far enough forward (unlike the Bobsters) to give good clearance. The problem comes with the foam and the plastic of the frame at the sides, which REALLY encroach on the arms of the glasses. But I thought they could be made to work.

In reading other reviews, I am curious if I received the same product that others did. These goggles worked out extremely well for me. I am an average sized guy and found the goggles to be just the right fit (I used them for snowboarding so I can't say that they fit if you're wearing a helmet). The goggles only fogged up on me once but it was when I pushed them up onto my (extremely sweaty) forehead and, even so, as soon as I replaced them over my eyes the fog only took a few seconds to dissipate. For the price there's absolutely no beating them. The only complaint that I have about them is that you have to buy darker lenses separately. Aside from that minor detail, they are superb!

It says nowhere on the page or the box that just arrived that these are kids goggles... but there is no way these are designed for adults. Luckily, I can put them to use... but not really happy. It appears to be a decent product, but not what I thought I was ordering.

I have learned a lot since buying this pair of goggles.
1) Never buy goggles with a single layer lense
2) Colorless lenses are worthless.

The single layer lens will result in immediate fog. The clear/colorless lens means that all you get to see is glare.
Worthless.

i was a little concerned about the small fit comments, but bought anyway. i think the fit is fine and have good visibility. drawback is you also need to buy a tinted insert if you want to shade your eyes. happy with purchase.

According to "Eyepieces" of Vail, Oakley is the only manufacturer that still applies a wax based permanent anti-fog coating to
its expensive lenses. These lenses, if touched, wiped, wetted when cold etc. will be permanently marred. I found the same to happen for warm lenses as well. The lens was ruined. Eyepieces said they have "boxes" of ruined Oakley lenses. No replacements are authorized. I will never buy an Oakley product again.
