Rich and Powerful, October 7, 2004

Mike Longo has been at it for a long time. Formerly the music director and pianist for Dizzy Gillespie, Mike continues to add to a long list of musical accomplishments. A "Big Band" fom the Big Apple, the New York State of the Art Jazz Ensemble is reminiscent of Basie, Ellington and certainly the large group gems from Diz himself. The addition of vocalist Hilary Gardner adds a certain sparkle to a project that is original, innovative and solid from beginning to end.
