This product is used to turn fondant into gum paste for flower forming as fondant alone isn't 'elastic' enough. (Usual ratio is 1T of tylose to 1 lb of fondant). It works just fine.

I also add it to a half fondant/half gum paste mixture because it seems to allow me to work the paste a little thinner than I can without the tylose. I like my petals, leaves, and butterflies to look as realistic as possible and this allows me get them realistically thin with less breaking and cracking.

It also seems to dry faster and harder. The down side is that I have to work a little faster. The ideal subject for which you would use tylose powder would be if you want to make a letter or number or some other decoration to sit on the top of the cake that is stiff and will hold its shape without breaking or bending.

Another use is to make edible glue to use on your decoration (2T warm water to 1/4 t of tylose powder.) It won't look right at first, but refrigerate overnight to get it to the right consistency.

My flowers look so real using this product to thin out the fondant and manipulate the petals and leaves it's difficult to differentiate them from real flowers.

This was my first time ever using this product. It was great. I am a home baker, so I'm learning and teaching myself as I go. I would definitely recommend this product. My flowers and butterflies dried quickly and turned out great!

I like to mix this with my home made fondant to make a great tasting gum paste. It's odorless and tasteless, so the taste of my fondant shines through. Adds enough rigidity to my designs to create many wonderful cakes.

Its obvious that this is some good stuff, I had about 1/3 bottle left, didn't want to be without it. It's good for thickening and hardening my fondant

My wife wanted to find a way to get her fondant to stiffen. This does it! She can now make flowers that retain their shape no matter what.

If you feel this product doesn't quite harden fast enough, you are putting too little in your fondant. I use this for all small decorations or decorations that need detail. For a ball the size of my fist, I use about 3 tsp to get it to harden very quickly. It works like a charm!

This was the first time I used tylose powder. My granddaughter wanted a unicorn birthday cake and so I fashioned one out of fondant. The tylose powder hardened it so that it could be sturdy. It also dried it out so that now we've sealed it well and my granddaughter will have it forever.....Thank You Seller!
