Rich, masculine, dense music., February 1, 2005
This review is from: Oath at Khidistavi: Heroic Songs & Hymns From (Audio CD)
At times this music will remind you of some harmonically rich gregorian chant, but then some of the vocal embellisments make you think of the middle east, when suddenly a soloist bursts in with wild trills that make you think of jungle tribes.
Just listening makes you realize that our line between Europe and Asia is entirely artificial. Another way to look at it is that this is music that is Christian, but not at all Western.
If you love vocal harmony, do not miss this.
