You know, it really bothers me when I'm hit with a "buy our other products" ad right at the beginning of the book. I haven't even decided whether I like this one yet.

There's no author information, no personalization, no customization, no baking tips. The cover of the book says it's a Kitchen Kreations Collection. (At least they're upfront about the fact it's a collection.) I don't know how they decided they were the "most delicious and best tasting" (alert the Department of Redundancy Department) because there's nothing about that.

There are about 32 recipes here, several of which were very similar to ones I had in my collection already from my favorite recipe website. I did notice that the "cowboy butterscotch oatmeal cookies" called for 3 cups of oats versus the 2 in my version of "cowboy oatmeal cookies." Personally, I'd stick with mine with the 2 cups, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's an "error" to have the 3.

If you don't have a collection of oatmeal cookies already, it may not be a bad choice. The recipes appear to be complete and are easy to read, and there is a hyperlinked table of contents.

I initially bought this book for the sole purpose of collection. But as I tried the first recipe, which was quite easy to follow, I loved how it turned out and my kids loved it as well. This is a great starter book for those who want to try their hand at oatmeal cookies.
