Obama Paper Dolls: Collectible Campaign Edition

I "slept" on acquiring this set of Obama paper dolls for several months after their publication and was almost in a state of panic and near devastation post-November 4, 2008, when I discovered the Dover website listed the set as "sold out." I immediately went to Amazon.com and was relieved to see them listed as available. I promptly ordered two sets--one for myself and one for a friend. There was a slight delay in their arrival, but they were well worth the wait.

While the dolls do not look exactly like the new first family (none of Tierney's paper dolls are an exact mirror image of the people they represent, which is probably intentional on his part) I am quite pleased with the set of four dolls. It includes President-elect (soon to be President, and I love that title for him!) Barack Obama, wife Michelle, and children Malia and Sasha. The down side is that the girls only have one extra outfit ... but who plans to cut out the dolls or their clothing?

Overall, I love the set for its historical significance and the enhancement it will give my Obama memorabilia collection and my black paper doll collection. I highly recommend it for fellow adult paper doll collectors as well as children--boys and girls.

I saw this book with its "COLLECTIBLE CAMPAIGN EDITION" banner and though this would be nice as a collectible. I don't know much about paper dolls so I guess that alone should have steered me away from this book. As another reviewer stated, the Obama doll doesn't look like Obama at all...not even close. The Michelle one is slightly better but still not that accurate. I guess if you like paper dolls, this is a good book for you. I just wouldn't recommend it for someone like me who was just looking for some collectibles from this election

I have collected paper dolls since I was a child. I especially like celebrity paper dolls. I'm so excited to have the Obama set. I got it before the election and am thrilled with it.

THIS PAPERDOLL BOOK WITH OBAMA IS OKAY. I LIKE IT. ONLY THING I WISHED, THE FACE OF OBAMA LOOK MORE REALISTIC/LIKE HIM. PURCHASING THIS PRODUCT JUST BRINGS BACK MEMORIES TO WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL AND I WAS INNOCENT WITHOUT ANY CARES IN LIFE. I ALSO WANTED IT BECAUSE OF THE HISTORY, THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT (NOT TO IDOLIZE HIM, HE IS HUMAN, GOD HAS THE FINAL WORD). I JUST WANT TO HAVE A PIECE OF HISTORY IN MY COLLECTION. IF YOU LIKE PAPERDOLLS AND WANT TO START A COLLECTION, THIS ONE IS NOT SO BAD, ONLY WISH THE FACE WAS MORE REALISTIC(LOOK LIKE OBABMA). THIS IS MY 2ND BOOK FROM THIS ARTIST.

I saved these paper dolls in my Obama souvenirs memorabilia. Really unique and great price!

Purchased this as a gag gift. It is really nicely made and I think by the time my sister is 120years old - it will be worth a fortune. Too old to remember what kids like but, I imagine there are kids out there who would like these paper dolls.

these are simply darling paperdolls, tastefully done and worth hanging on to as an all American keepsake from this historic election

I bought this to add to my JFK and Princess of Wales paper doll collections and I am delighted with it. I used to collect paper dolls (as an Australian, however, I call them "cut out dolls")as a child and had vast families of them, with enviable wardrobes of clothes and shoes and accessories for all occasions. I was delighted to discover, on a trip to the US in 2002, that I could get cut out dolls, presumably meant as adult "collectibles", of my all time favourites Jack and Jackie, Princess Diana and now the uber-glam Obamas! My inner child itches to cut out the dolls and clothes and dress them up by folding over the little white tags on the shoulders and have them walk around talking to each other - but I think I'd better resist and leave them intact.

it was great , if only there was a wider range of clothes for obama.

I order this product in November of 2008. I still did not received it. I am so dissatisfied with your service. I usually order from you guys but I will never order from your site again. This is horrible service. I am deeply surprise at the level of good service from your company. I will make sure to spread the word to my friends and family especially during this christmas time.
