So many ways I went wrong...,
By
This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
I can't believe where we are at this present time in America. My whole family voted for Barack...I mean my whole family..we are all white working class people. We usually get together for major family events, of which was my mother's 85th birthday. It was not too long before politics was brought up and I have to say, on save my admitted socialist sister attending NYU journalism program, we are all kinda' shell shocked about what just went down in D.C. with the vote on health care. We all talk about how this system needs fixing, as a couple of us are in the health care industry. But, the way this was passed has left most, not all, but most of us very troubled.
And, after we calmed down a bit, when the food arrived...very hungry at this point, we had come to the conclusion that we voted for Barack Obama more because we were not happy about still being in Iraq and Afghanistan and all it was costing. 20/20 retrospect can be very powerfull and there are some very sober, very troubled souls in my family now, wondering if we had made a mistake voting for Barack, save my scialist leaning sister who has no issues with the way things are shaping up. She's very hopeful, even now. That's my sis. However, I think the main worry we are having is that the administration is not listening to we that want a little bit more fiscal restraint and moderation on spending. And, when my retired family members heard that Obama is warming up to the idea of nationalizing our 401k retirement plans, that was a real shocker. I don't know if this is true; but, if it is, I don't think there would be many more votes from my family for his re-election in 2012. I hope that's not true. We are worried. Now the book review: So far, two of us have read the book and are astounded at how true what he is saying did happen. A couple of us are technogeeks and we followed and recieved many of the messages on our ipods and facebook to vote for Barack and that he would be the game changer in Washington and that he would change D.C. and make EVERYTHING transparent and EVERYTHING would be on C-SPAN. I think that's one thing that my family and I were so dissappointed about the none of this happened and that it was all kept under wraps and we could not watch all of the promised debate. Instead, we got something that even Congress did not read......never, ever, ever thought that could happen in America. This book has really opened my eyes and made me really slow down, take a chill pill and slowly, patiently and OBJECTIVELY watch what politicians say and do so that one can make a more reasoned decision. Thanks Jason for writing this book for my generation. With this new perspective, we have no excuse for repeating this mistake...

Steve G,

This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
I am a high school senior and have been curious as to why most of my friends support Obama with very little in substance to say about him. They really don't have reasons and don't seem to know much at all about how our government works, our constitution, the founding fathers, or basic economics. Going along with everything Obama does just seems to be the easy and popular thing to do. I received this book from someone who believes it is up to my generation to know more about what is happening, and be more proactive. I was honestly quite surprised by the extent of the manipulation of people my age and those who are now in college and in their twenties. This book has been helpful and I feel more confident in making political decisions based on what I believe and information I choose to gather, rather than what I am simply presented with.

Well Documented and Well Written,
By
This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
In Obama Zombies, Jason Mattera gives an informative, fact-filled, and often hilarious account of the highly sophisticated, highly integrated, new media marketing effort conducted by the Obama campaign during the 2008 election season and beyond to galvanize 18 - 29 year old voters, turning them into "Obama Zombies" - young Americans attracted to Obama by his "hip" style and his empty-headed "Hope - Change - Yes, We Can" rhetoric.
It is truly impressive (and a bit scary) to learn how effectively Team Obama utilized every facet of new media - the internet, cable T.V., and cell phone technology - to attract and organize young voters via Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and text messaging. By working with the founders and owners of several of these new internet giants (such as Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes) the Obama campaign was able to leave the McCain campaign in the dust of its young voter outreach. Mattera makes no effort to hide his disdain of the many college-age Americans who lack a basic knowledge of American history and government and whose political discourse is banal, vulgar, and ignorant. He advertizes and argues for his conservative outlook throughout the book. So, no one should complain that the author is posing as an objective, non-partisan observer, nor even that he is just another conservative political hack. "Obama Zombies" is educational not only for anyone involved in politics, but also for business people interested in learning how to effectively utilize new media for marketing products and services. Obama Zombies should even be taught in political science courses as a historical narrative on how the Obama organization has brought about a new paradigm in political campaigns . The book is fact-filled, well-documented, and footnoted; it is very well-written and formatted. Obama Zombies is must-reading for anyone who wants to learn how effective political campaigns will be run from now on.

This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
Mattera knows just how to hit the liberals where it hurts. I couldn't wait for this book to hit the market. It didn't disappoint. At some points I was in tears and had to put the book down I was laughing so hard. This is an in your face fact driven book that makes me proud to be a conservative. He isn't afraid to call people out and frankly that is just what this country needs. Bravo Mattera! I cant wait for your next gem.

Jason Mattera is not afraid to say what everyone is thinking. We've seen him manhandle liberal congressmen in the halls of the Capitol and on cable news. Now he reveals the brainwashing of a young generation in his very first book. Mattera's writing is sharp, funny and fresh. This is the beginning of a new generation of young conservative thought. All young adults need to read this book and learn how to think independently. Buy it now. I loved it and you will, too.

This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
I've been a fan of Jason Mattera since I first heard his brilliant commentary years ago on the state of conservatism. It was apparent then he would be a huge voice for conservatism, but more importantly, those of his generation who have been indoctrinated in liberal college halls of America. This book is sharp, insightful, incisive, and hilarious. He makes a compelling case why conservative principles are more aligned with the youth's proclivities. Even if you LOVE Barack Obama, this is a must-read just for comic relief! Don't take my word for it--see what Michelle Malkin has to say here: [...]
Ladies, he's also super HOT too, so that's a plus! Check him out on youtube in his latest clip at CPAC--you won't stop laughing. This is a must-read...you will not put it down! Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation

"Dear Leader" and his "Zombies",
By
This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
Yes, I too was amazed how a generation of young people (along with a lot of older people who should know better), all catapulted a Chicago Machine politician with almost no business experience and who thinks like a college sophomore into the highest office in the Land, not realizing that his agenda was not some kind kind of cool "New Left" ideology made in the Apple I-Phone era, but rather, policy written back in the 1970s, and with the rubber stamp of approval from cynical unions and special interests (the teachers' unions, trial lawyers, etc.). I was truly shocked as someone who lived in Chicago, that people could be this damn naive and think that any Democrat from Chicago could possibly be uncorrupted by the "Machine".
Now to the book: I have not read the entire thing, but read a good part of it. The chapter on health care is very timely, now that Pelosi and Obama have rammed through their health care "agenda" using parliamentary tactics not seen in America since the robber barons of the 1880s (perhaps Hugo Chavez's Venezuela would be a better example). The author asks, "what would happen to your auto insurance if insurers were not allowed to charge anyone any more than anyone else, and had to accept everyone ? Well, of course, your policy would become much more expensive, and that is exactly what will happen with health care. Mattera demolishes the "40 million uninsured" argument, showing that most of them have access to insurance, but just have not gotten around to applying for it. Solution: force them to !! Many of the uninsured are not even American, they are illegals from Mexico. And many make over $ 50,000 a year. Some just choose to buy a Blackberry instead of insurance. So the "solution" is going to be to force that 23-year old waitress to pay $ 2,500 a year for insurance, all so the 65-year old doesn't have to pay $ 7,000, but rather, $ 5,000. EXACTLY. It is a WEALTH TRANSFER FROM YOUNGER AND POORER PEOPLE TO OLDER, RICHER PEOPLE. Duh ! Meet the new Left ! All of this is just too predictable, but the author does a very good job of presenting good "talking points", all within a book structure that is fun to read (unless you are a lefty, of course), and humorous. Just remember: Obama is from the "Machine", and nothing he is proposing was not already tired and worn out in 1977, from wind mills to bullet trains to "talking" with dictators, to underfunding our military. It is just that now that "Mr. Rock Star" is presenting it, the MTV generation has been duped into being zombies, that it will all work just like they drew it out on the whiteboard at Harvard.

Reality in the Age of Obama,
By
This review is from: Obama Zombies: How the Liberal Machine Brainwashed My Generation (Hardcover)
From the creepy and ubiquitous Obama "O" to the Marxist and Che Posters, to the Videos of Children singing to the Glorious Leader to the Camo'ed, blue shirted thugs marching to Obama chanting "Alpha, Omega, Alpha, Omega", the cult of Obama has been a sickening reminder of the power to manipulate, twist and brainwash the people. The States that have indulged such a leader are in the list of most repressive and brutal regimes: Cambodia, The Soviet Union, Red China, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Cuba, etc all displayed a "cult" around a particular leader (Pol Pot, Stalin, etc.), to the Nations detriment. We don't know those nations because of their advanced human rights or their achivements in freedom and comfort for their people, we know them because they took the road to slavery and suffering and poverty while their leaders laughed.
This book Documents it now before it goes down the memory hole. |
