If you don't take a tripod with you because it's too heavy, then what's the point of even owning it? This tripod is so light and compact that there is never a reason not to take it with you.

I am able to fit it into a Domke little-bit-smaller bag along with all of my m43rds gear and walk around all day with this kit set up. On a recent trip, I've walked all through Hong Kong with it every day, from Sham-Shui-Po(SSP) all the way down to Tsim-Tsa-Tsui(TST), and many points in between. The bigger concern was the Domke bag strap biting into my shoulder a bit (eventually alleviated with a shoulder pad). I was able to take good photos at night at Victoria Harbor and throughout the city with this tripod. Without it, there's no doubt that I would have ended up with nothing but blurred pictures (my prior year experience). The head is okay, and at least comes with the legs. Some manufacturers don't even supply a head therefore requiring a separate additional purchase. A decent tripod bag is also supplied, and again, some manufacturers don't supply this either. It's a nice touch that these two items are included.

Is it perfect? Nothing is, and there are compromises to be had for this kind of ultra compact & light travel tripod. The head could be a little bit better, and upon lock down, does move slightly, but it isn't enough to bother me and I don't require that level of precision (like in macro-photography I would guess). I also don't care for the supplied Arca-Swiss type plate because when attached to a camera body it still results in a bit of movement/slop, so instead I use an aftermarket RRS L-bracket which eliminates this one issue that does bother me.

Every once in a while the planets line up. This small, light weight and sturdy tripod is one of those times. This tripod is well built, super compact and holds my D800 with various lenses with no problem. This tripod is my go to for travel hands down. Also, it is my go to when I take my motorcycle out as it fits right on the side of my Lowepro Slingshot 202AW bag....a great combo.

One thing I noticed about this tripod that I have not read in any reviews is the fact that it is surprisingly solid/steady/minimal wobble when the center column and legs are fully extended. In the context of super small light weight tripods I give this one 6 stars not 5 when used realistically/within it's build design.

If you have very large pro lenses, gimbal head, large camera body, etc, etc....then you already know you need a full size Gitzo or RRS set up. For those of you who have a small, med or large DSLR ( I have a D800 as I mentioned) and a 18-200 or 28-300 lens while you travel....this Oben is the one for you and worth the money, in my opinion.

I have only come to love this product more and more with use. Was first a drop hesitant to go with a different brand as I'm usually a name-brand purchaser only. I love the fact that I can flip the stand and be able to take picture on a tripod from a very low angle. The tripod is really sturdy. I can actually detect a difference in my pictures since this stand won't let my SLR shake as my old tripod did. Very well made and compact and for the price it can't be beat. This tripod is a dream come true and I couldn't be any happier. Go for it - you won't regret it.

I have been wanting this tripod forever and I finally just got it. So glad I did. This tripod is very light and maneuverable. If you use a tripod for travel, nature or any kind of photography it will server you well. Also, by extending the leg joints, it folds to 13 inches and is sturdier than it looks. And I am saying that when I have some pretty heavy cameras. The locks are very secure and sturdy. The attached ball head is excellent. It has 3 adjustment knobs, one for the pan, one for fine tilt adjustment and one to allow for the gross weight of the camera. This is a really well thought out product. Would definitely recommend to a friend.
