Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels and inspiration for HBO's hit series True Blood, invites you to step into her charmingly creepy vampire world. Play as Dahlia, a vampire with a devastating sense of fashion and a razor-sharp wit.

Embark on a darkly humorous journey across New Orleans in an epic hunt to find a legendary sun potion. Join Dahlia as you are led into a dark world of an avant-garde circus troupe where you must track down its scattered vampire members. Interact with eccentric characters that go bump in the night...at least for now.

Uncover hidden clues, solve original puzzles, gather ingredients, and stay one step ahead of an ancient and rival sect of vampires determined to procure the sun potion for themselves-at any cost.

As vampires have been productive and ultimately accepted into society, their ancient vulnerability remains true - they can only emerge at night. When rumors circulate that a legendary potion exists allowing vampires to walk amid the daylight, Dahlia jumps at the chance to further investigate. It's up to her to find the potion before anyone else.

    3.0 out of 5 stars Not a full game!?! March 14, 2011

First of all, this is a beautifully constructed game with some creative puzzles. Unfortunately it is only a PART of the game. (I wish I had known that before spending an hour reconfiguring my laptop so it would run!) You are teased into thinking your purpose is to track down x number of people to obtain the prize, but you're half way through and it's over. Now I'm left waiting for the next part to be released to finish the game? I feel a bit cheated. If only the description had indicated this, well, at least I would have made an informed purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game!!! March 18, 2011
First off, I have to admit a bias: I enjoy Charlaine Harris's The Southern Vampire Mysteries. But that said, an author's writing doesn't necessarily translate to a good casual game. This game does reflect the authors offbeat sense of humor about her subject matter and her sassy characters.

This is an adventure Hidden Object game.
It plays out in episodes with each one being a part of a larger story. In this "Chapter 1" you get the first 4 episodes. Great opening episode music, also!

There is a recap of each of the previous "episodes" when you move onto the next - feels like TV program episodes.

Yes, this is a vampire tale but the twist is you are the vampire in a time when vampires have "come out" and are now part of the normal population. I'm giving nothing away here as you understand this right from the beginning. The humor in this game is really dry, unique and entertaining. If you are a fan of Charlaine Harris it will remind you of her quirky characters.

The graphics in this are very well done and the hidden object scenes are not hard at all but they are really only there for you to collect needed items. The objects are also appropriate to the scene. Other items you will find scattered about in your wandering. There is no real foot work here as you have a very informative map that will not only jump to whatever location you have uncovered but will also light up the ones that have actions you need to take care of.

The mini games are a part of the story as opposed to your standard "throw a game in here" approach. Some are really inventive and some are nothing more than common sense.

The music is very unique for a casual game. The opening music for each episode will remind you of the TrueBlood series.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointed October 8, 2011
    Verified Purchase
This was a very fun game to play, good graphics and interesting story, but I absolutely hate that the game stopped half way through. I don't mind, if they are intending to have sequels in the future, but what I do mind, very much is the fact that you cannot replay this game. If this is a one time only game, it should be stated clearly before people purchase it. I have been playing games for years now, and I have never run across a game that you could only play one time. That is crazy! But, when you try to play this game again, a screen comes up telling you that you have passed the first part of this game, but you can "visit" your trophy room to view the cards and trophies you collected throughout the game. I hope this is not going to be a common practice of downloaded games, because I will not be buying any downloaded games in the future then. If you can't replay a game if you want to, it isn't worth the money it costs, no matter how cheap it may be.

i had played this game for free on a different website. I thought it was fun so I thought "why not buy it". I did and really loved the game play as before. the graphics were good, the characters were cool, and the storyline was awesome. the only bad rating I would give this game is....I wish part 2 would come out so I could buy it as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Game for Sookie Stackhouse Fans July 19, 2011
    Verified Purchase
I purchased this here as it was substantially cheaper than other places I found to buy it at online. It is a quick download and will entertain you for the afternoon and/or evening when playing it through. It is fun and has the humor that the Sookie Stackhouse book series has.

If you liked reading the books or watching True Blood, you would probably enjoy playing the game too. It is only the first chapter to the game though, so don't expect to have it wrap up nicely at the end. It leaves you hanging until the next part comes out. That is really the only thing I didn't like about it.

The graphics are excellent. The plot and characters interesting and the puzzles imaginative. Yes it only takes you half way through the story and I can't wait for the sequel.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good game, but as others have said it doesn't finish the plot.
I would've given a higher rating had I been warned it was only part 1, and part 2 is not yet available.
