As with previous proceedings in the Data Semantics series, the topic chosen by IFIP WG 2.6, Databases is one which places emphasis on the role of semantical data models in database design and specification. Contributions included indicate with clarity the important role that object orientation will play, from both conceptual and implementation viewpoints, in the construction of more
semanticaldatabases.
