3.0 out of 5 stars Good high-level overview, March 29, 2000

This review is from: Object-Oriented Systems Design: An Integrated Approach (Yourdon Press Computing Series) (Hardcover)
This book presents a general overview of OO design. As the back cover says, it is not aimed at the pure developer but more at the manager or systems-level designer/team leader. It would also make a good textbook for an "Introductory to OO design" class.

Two example situations are detailed - one a real-time system and the other a typical data-oriented system. While the analysis of each is thorough and well detailed, I think Mr. Yourdon wasted time by comparing different notational conventions.

Overall I liked the book, but I felt that more detail could have been included without alienating the intended high-level audience.
