I bought this bowl primarily for cereal. I have no complaints about it but my boyfriend thinks the top half should be larger. The bottom is deep and wide but the top part can't hold the desired amount of dry food. For me it's enough since I eat the serving size.
Maybe this company could make the same bowl with different sizing options for the top half?

I love this bowl, kinda pricey for a single plastic bowl, but I don't regret it.

Love it! For a person like me, who wants just enough milk in a cereal bowl to have moisture without any soggy pieces, this is perfect! I use it every morning, endure the jokes of my family, and enjoy the very last bite of crunchy frosted flakes!

Bowl itself is very large. The height is almost 5 inches and is the diameter of a small dinner plate. I just wash it after breakfast and store it on top of the coffee maker without wasting precious cupboard space.

I agree that the top "shelf" doesn't hold as much cereal as I want, but if you fill the top and start with a small amount in the milk....you will have plenty.

I love this bowl. I like my cereal very crispy so this works really well for that. Only issue is the bowl is pretty big and bulky. Some people have mentioned that the cereal portion is not big enough; from my experience since I have been dieting, it holds about one serving of cereal give or take depending on the kind you eat (I eat mini wheats). Serving being the manufacturers suggested serving size on the nutrition info panel. This was pretty helpful when I was dieting because I did not have to measure my portion.

This bowl it is just amazing and so much fun!! The person who created this is simply genius. The bowl holds the perfect portion of milk (about 1 cup) and cereal (about ¾ cup) so makes the perfect choice when you are on a diet.

The concept is simple and brilliant: keep the cereal crispy until it's time to mix it with milk. The execution is even better than the concept.

The bowl is very sturdy, a hybrid of plastic and hard-glass bowl, something that will stand the test of time as well as the pressure from the dish-washer. The separation of cereal-to-milk area has about a 1:2 ratio, with the milk portion being deeper by a small margin.

One huge unknown benefit: bowl handle. A bowl handle? What's that, right? Well, the bowl-handle is something that should have been invented years ago. The bowl feels like a painter's easel, where the hand contours around a small indention in the bottom of the bowl for secure grubbing. Particulary useful if eating cereal on a bus, airplane, or carnival ride. It also minimizes the bowl-on-the-lap conundrum, which always creates an uneasy feeling of impending spill.

I just love this bowl.

Nerdy dorky husband saw this on the chive and thought this was a great idea. Got this for him for Christmas. He loves it. Bowl is heavier than it looks. Sturdy and we like that is made in the USA.

I have had this bowl on my wish list for a long time. After the price dropped 25 percent, I finally bought it. It serves the purpose of keeping my cereal from getting soggy, but I do agree with many of the other reviews that the part of the bowl that holds the cereal is way too small. I had to fill it twice. But, I still like it. I disagree with reviews that said it takes up too much space in a cabinet. It isn't that big!!

Ever since I saw it on chive, I've always wanted one. I never could substantiate spending $16 on a bowl, though. I was perusing at Goodwill on Jan. 1, when I saw one on a shelf. The employees obviously had no clue what it was, as evidenced by the $1.50 price tag. Bonus: all inventory was 50% off that day. Yep. I got my 8" purple (my favorite color!!) Obol for 75 cents. Anyway, onto the review. It's deep enough to hold plenty of milk and cereal together in the bottom (larger) compartment, but doesn't hold too much in the top (smaller). Seems like if the top part was the same size but deeper, you could put more in. It has a neat cut out on the back so you can hold it, but the way your hand needs to be positioned is awkward to me. The bowl (even when filled) is by no means heavy, but when holding it as pictured, it seems heavier than it is. The plastic is thick which insulates the milk and, in my opinion, keeps it colder longer than a regular bowl. As the person that likes to drink the milk out of the bowl after eating the cereal, the Obol needs a little indention on it so you can turn the bowl up. Right now, there is a tiny "lip" around the edge that makes it a little messy for me. If it had a built in straw, then I would've paid $16 for it. Overall, I like the Obol and give it 4/5 stars.
