This is A fun game with different playable characters to play as and that is real cool.
I think it is more interesting to play a game with a few characters than just one character for the entire game.
I played the PS2 game a long time ago and it was fun to have a horror game with 2 players that was cool.
I'm sure the PC version would be fun to.

I bought this game right here on Amazon with 2 other games of the same price. It won't say "Verified Purchase" though and I don't know why. Anyway. I think I paid like 8 bucks or less for the game. I never played the first one & I don't really intend to because the graphics in this game don't impress me that much, even for the year it came out, which I think was 2005. Even the graphics in Silent Hill 3 (which I think came out that year too) are a lot better, though I know SH is a bigger franchise with lots of cash to invest in good graphics, ect.

I think Obscure: The Aftermath was made by a French company but I'm not sure. I mentioned that because, well, maybe that can sort of excuse the really, really terrible dialogue in this game. And the music was over the top teen bopper, like a cliche soundtrack to every cliche teen film that ever existed. But I don't want to be too harsh because it looked like the team DID put a lot of effort into making this game. The characters looked good, and I really liked the college/dorms settings. Also, the voice acting was good and I enjoyed it. Also the creatures looked good and creepy, as well as some of the outside levels and scenes.

Now, the plot was different was weird to me. Plant spores that create creatures or something? Idk. I haven't played this for a while so it's hard to remember, but weird/deadly plants spores and mist were at the root of this horror game. But honestly, with the weird plants and everything, it sounds more Science fiction than horror. It was just weird.

I really wanted to love this game, but I wouldn't recommend to anyone because the dialogue and music date the game even more than the graphics to me. I'm sorry this game isn't better. I think I have to give it 3 stars.

If you enjoyed the first Obscure and are looking for more of the same with little to no improvement to the graphics engine or game play than look no further than this game.

I, personally, was disappointed because I expected something to have been improved or different from the original game.
