Book Description

Tarago Jakobus was 6’4”, intelligent, extremely wealthy with a Midas touch.
He was also openly racist, politically incorrect and a chauvinistic pig who told offensive jokes.
He loved to party and was used to women vying for his attention.
So when his eyes fell on Tanin, he expected her to just melt into his bed and be grateful that he even looked her way.
To his utter surprise, she was totally unimpressed with his wealth, thought he was an uneducated buffoon and publicly rejected him.
Of course he was shocked and humiliated by her response.
But no woman had ever turned Tarago down before, and he found her fascinating. He became obsessed with her and decided to win her over his way – destroy all that is precious to her, so that she would have no choice but to need him.
If that didn’t work, he’d switch to plan ‘B’ – take away her freedom and throw her ass in jail.
And being the absolute bastard that he was, he did.

Obsessed With Me is a modern-day, interracial / multiracial love story.

"Can I rate 6 stars, maybe even 7 stars? How do you do it? Everytime you amaze me at how good you are at writing, you pull me into the story and even after I stop reading, the story is still in my head! Well done!! I have only one problem, WHEN can I read part two??
(reviewed the day of purchase)"

"Tarago is a bad boy. By far one of the baddest bad boys I have ever stumbled upon. I loved him, though!"

“Thank you for giving me hope that there are people who can write juicy stories. I was getting bored with modern day romance. Keep it hottt.”

"I definitely enjoyed it, I had a great time reading it. And I'm really looking forward to read the next book. You left me here hanging Eve!!!!
(reviewed the day of purchase)"

"I love it!! When can I get book two?"

"I discovered Eve on Monday, I'm reading some of her ebooks, yet again. I plan to also get the other books. Wow!!!"

"This Author got my attention, never heard of her till yesterday, but I will be buying more books from her."

"Tanin is a college student, Tarago is an alpha male jerk. Together they will keep you reading."

"Kept me up till 2 AM. Loved it! Careful though, must be able to stand full-on racism. Not for the faint-hearted."

Warning: Contains violence, strong language, racial themes and sex scenes,

Author's Note: This book is set in South Africa in 1993 before Nelson Mandela was made president and has depicts racism between all races in South Africa.
Having experienced racism first hand (I was thrown out of KFC for being the wrong colour) my experiences tend to infiltrate my works of fiction. If reading about racism offends you, you might want to pass on this book.
This is a two-part series and book two is available.
Hope you enjoy this love story. :)

From the Inside Flap

"Meneer wants you to dance with him," Charlene says.
I look out of my window of my bedroom at the party below. Another boozy party with so many drunks. Wasn't last night enough? How the hell does his liver handle it?
And, he has so many girls to dance with, why does he want me to dance with him?
"Tell him I don't wanna dance," I say to Charlene.
Charlene gives me a sure-you-want-to-say-that-to-Meneer? look.
I nod.
With a small shrug, she leaves.
From my window, I watch her relay my message.
She returns a short while later. "Meneer say you must dance with him or he will throw you in the pool."
After the other night, I don't want to chance that. Fuming, I reluctantly walk out of my room and down to him.
When he sees me heading toward him, he claps his hands. "Round of applause for our non-smoking, non-drinking, non-swearing, non ...everything Vyf."
Everyone claps.
"Knock it off, will you?" I hiss.
The music plays some Afrikaans song.
"What? All I want is for you to dance to a few oppressors' songs," Tarago says. "That's all."
"Mff." With my lips pressed tightly together, I stand in front of him and reluctantly move a hip slightly to the left. Then I move it slightly to the right.
Under his watchful eyes and everybody's watchful eyes, I feel like my feet are encased in cement.
"That's not dancing," Tarago says, folding his arms and pouting like a two-year-old.
"It is dancing," I argue. "And I'm sorry that I am not dancing like a monkey and going like this..." I put my hands over my head and push at the skies like he does, a crazy look on my face.
"See, now that's dancing!" he says. "You got it, Vyf."
I fold my arms tightly across my chest. "Well, that's not how I dance, so I refuse to dance like that. You just have to be happy with my style of dancing to this ...this oppressor's music."
He looks at me, then shouts out, "Vyf wants black music! Can we put on Ladysmith Black Mambuza or something for Vyf?"
Oh please!
"We don't have any," someone says. "No black music."
Satisfied that I told him off, I slightly shift around and stifle a yawn.
Suddenly, Tarago picks me up and walks toward the pool.
"Tarago, stop!" I hiss. "I have a very expensive outfit on. Stop!"
He continues walking.
"Tarago, stop this shit! I can't swim. You know that."
He carries on walking.
"Tarago! I can't FUCKING SWIM!'
He walks to the deep end of the pool and just tosses me into it in front of everyone.
Once again, I fight, splash, and cough, and somehow manage to surface. When I get to the side of the pool, I look at him laughing at me.
I lose it - "Jou bliksem (You bastard)! Ek sal jou doodmaak (I will kill you!)!" The profanity, in Afrikaans too, just oozes from my mouth without thought. Maybe I swallowed too much chlorinated water or something - to be cursing? To be cursing in Afrikaans?
A hush filled the place. All eyes now on Tarago.
Have I gone too far?
"Vyf," he says in surprised, but humble voice, "You just spoke Afrikaans, Vyf."
I glare at him, my eyes bulging, my breath coming out in spurts.
"You just spoke the oppressor's language, Vyf."
People start to laugh.
"Aaarrrggghhh!" I scream and get out of the pool. "You better sleep with your eyes open, you son of a bitch!"
He just laughs.
"Motherfucking arsehole! I will knife you. I promise I will."
His guffawing progresses to some table slapping.
"Now we can see your tits!" Erika says.
I'm wearing a white summer top and a flowing white skirt. Right now, through my top, you can see my breasts and my hardened nipples.
Quickly, I cross my hands over my chest and storm out of the party, Tarago's laughter ringing in my ears. I pause at the entrance to flash him my middle finger.
As I walk to my room, I think about the melt-down I just had - what the hell am I turning into? I'm swearing and cussing in Afrikaans, I'm making threats ...I think Tarago is turning me into a mental case already.
I really need to get my shit together.
No, no, no, I need to get out of here.
Or someone's going to die soon.

2.0 out of 5 stars Infuriating, demeaning, and racist... May 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I gave it two for construction of the book cause it was written decently. However, the plot and characters are what I did not like. Seriously, I did myself a displeasure by reading some of this book. I couldn't finish it. This man may have forced her into a position, but I felt like the herione was stupid as well. Foolish. She let that man demean and use her. She was in a situation, which is understandable, but at the same time I feel like there is not enough money in the world. This book was annoying and infuriating. It was racially and sexually demeaning.

1.0 out of 5 stars I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! February 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
No adequate words to fully describe how disgusting and disheartening this is!
This book and its sequel are NOT, in any way, a love story! A "man" decides he wants he wants a woman, and he does everything to destroy her life, including threatening to let her mother die, in order to get her. This story is nothing more than demeaning, disgusting, bigotry that just glorifies abuse in ALL forms: physical, mental, emotional, and sexual. The first few sex scenes are rape, plain and simple.
There is no real love that is ever portrayed between them. There is only a tormentor/rapist and a young woman who has to subject herself to abuse and rape in order to keep her mother alive and her siblings in school. The issues between Tarago and Tanin are also never resolved. The book ends with an understanding that there will always be some form of abuse in the relationship, with the addition of a child to be thrown in and subjected to the disgusting "relationship" between her parents.
I love a good romance where there is some heartache; something that someone does to deeply affect the person who loves them, but I, in no way, shape, or form, enjoy an abusive, bigoted rapist as a hero; nor do I want to read about a young woman who is tormented into an unhealthy relationship and ends up a poster-child for Stockholm Syndrome.

4.0 out of 5 stars interesting September 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
So, I agree with some of the other reviewers that at first, the first person writing takes some getting used to, but once you do, the story moves along at a nice pace. The book is actually really good and different than what's normally put out. I will say though that the timidity of the heroine is annoying at times, as is her unrelenting anger towards Tarago, but under the circumstances, I guess I understand her viewpoint. Also, not liking that there's a sequel and so will have to buy it to see how everything ends. But overall a good book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sandra' s View "I liked it" September 17, 2013
By Sandra
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book had 2801 locations on my kindle. The book was about a racist, dominant man, named Tarago and a strong willed, young, woman, named Tanin. Tarago was Tanin's boss and a man, who would not take no for an answer. He bet his friends, he could get Tanin to have drinks with him. She refused his invitation and he proceeded to destroy the young girl. Tanin decided to confront the tyrant, when she realized, he was trying to ruin her life. Tarago made Tanin an offer, she could not refuse,"Be with me and I will take care of you and your family". I gave the book 4 stars, even through, I did not like the racial slurs, I did not like verbal abuse from the hero. I wished the sex scenes, had more fire and heat. I still, felt compelled to read Tanin and Tarago's story. I even bought "Obsessed with me" book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! May 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Tanin is a poor girl, takes care of her family, works and study. She is just trying to make a living. When her racist boss wants her to have a drink with her, she is disgusted by him so she rejects him. That's when her ordeal begins.

Tarago reminds me a lot of Diago (the hero of the Gringa Series by this same author). Making fun of her, all the parties at the house. His possessiveness, his need to own her. But unlike Diago, Tarago got his money in a clean way. He is just a two face a*****e who is obsessed with Tanin.

This book reminds me a lot the first series I read by Eve Rabi, Gringa. There are a lot of similarities in this book. But I don't care, I still loved it.

I definitely enjoyed it, I had a great time reading it. And I'm really looking forward to read the next book. You left me here hanging Eve!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and fun! You won't be able to stop at one. December 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
How can one man cause so much trouble for another person when he doesn’t get his own way? Well, let me tell you. Tarago Jakobus gives poor Tanin such a hard time and it all started with her refusal to have a drink with him after work one night. Because Tanin stands her ground, she loses her job and that’s just the beginning. Tarago comes across as a spoilt brat who loves to get his own way but quickly gets bored and loses interest. Except when it comes to Tanin. He never loses interest in her.

I read this book while I was in hospital. I was struggling with pain but Eve’s novel kept me company and made me feel good. I loved it! Her style of writing is easy to read and flows effortlessly. This romance novel is right up my alley. It’s funny, a little quirky and travels at a nice speed. It had quite a few funny moments which went down nicely. As they say, laughter is the best medicine and as I said, I read it in hospital.

The author (Eve Rabi) shocked the hell out of me when she ended the book the way she did. The nurses came running into my room when I started shouting out “NO WAY!” Needless to say, I was so happy to find out there was a part 2. Huh! LUCKY!
Anyway, all I can say is, do yourself a favour and get yourself a copy of this book and while you’re at it get book 2 as well because you’re going to want it as soon as you finish book 1. Trust me!
Loved it!
