This is a great first single from what is sure to be an amazing album. Pay no mind to people who wanna down Mariah because they obviously have no taste in music. Personally I'm a Mariah fan, but I'm not biased, and although I found the single underwhelming at first listen, it really grew on me a few times around and now it's one of my favorite summer songs! A+ single from the one and only MC.

When it honestly has came down to music lately, it has been harder to see an artist stride well. For Mariah Carey, she hasn't really givgen her all on her last album E=MC2. For her latest single from her upcoming album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, Obsessed, brings in a deeper rhythm rather than the more upbeat dance and soulful rhythms Mariah has been known for. The song isn't really anything that feels like it is a home run, unlike the songs from Emancipation Of Mimi showed. Mariah does try hard, but it simply falls short, and that is hard. I hope that Mariah Carey can redeem herself in time when her album comes out next month, and she is going to need to. Especially, with the much anticipated return of Whitney Houston and her album I Turn To You, and so far I really like what I am hearing from Whitney a whole lot more from her songs Like I Never Left and I Didn't Know My Own Strength. As for Mariah Carey, Obsessed felt like the obsesion could've been longer. Hopefully, her next single can strike the chord better.
