2 stars because Amazon's price is $15 more than the non-ULTRA version and $10 more than the MSRP! Now, I love the Obus Forme Seat. But the problem is, the ULTRA and the non-ULTRA seats are THE SAME. I own them both. In fact, I wrote the Obus Forme myself about the difference and they replied: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding our two seats. There are few differences between the two seats, they are constructed from the same technology, however, the Ultra Seat is of a fabric that matches to the Ultra Forme while The Seat is offered in a variety of colors that are intended to match up with our other back rests (Lowback, Wideback etc...)

Your notation regarding a price differential is puzzling. While we cannot dictate price, ail of our products are marketed with suggested retail price. For your reference, MSRP for "The Seat: is $61.00 CDN and the "Ultra Seat" is $60.00 CDN. We trust this clarifies the similarities and differences in our two seat products."

Why is Amazon charging MORE THAN THE MSRP!!?

The fabric between the two seats-and I have them in front of me as I write-is indistinguishable. The comfort is the same. The cushioning is the same. In fact, Obus Forme says the MSRP for the ULTRA is CHEAPER!! 2 stars because you should get the non-ULTRA seat for 15.00 cheaper.

As for the seat: Its ESSENTIAL for people who live in coffee shops/ study all day/ sit at work constantly-and don't have a lotta cushion back there. Makes almost any chair better. Its profoundly good. Just be careful about letting people try it out...its hard to get it back from them!

This helps me with my very bad back! It cushions the bumps of the road. I highly recommend it.

I purchased this item, along with a small and a large back cushion, because I was planning on attending several seminars that were extremely long.

I had avoided attending such events, in the past, because I have back issues and sitting for long periods of time, in less-than-ergonomic chairs, left me in a crippling mass of pain. And I never got my money's worth out of the seminars, because I was hurting too much to pay any attention, as the hours wore on.

One of my seminars went for 4 days, from 9 am to 9 pm. While I was somewhat stiff when the event ended, I was NOT in pain. I've used this item, for several events, with good results at all of them. (The first event was a two-day session that only provided lawn chairs. This item 'paid for itself' the first day!)

I also use this cushion in my office chair at home, for added support, and notice that I am less 'drained' after a full day in front of the computer.

Very portable item. Can be used with a variety of chairs. Highly recommended!

It is a pad, but I expected it would have more padding/support. Currently, it only marginally improves putting a cotton pillow on the chair. So either buy something else or save yourself the money and place a pillow on the Chair!

I was skeptical about spending this much for a cushion, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance. I got it for a road trip at Thanksgiving when I was having a sciatica flareup and desperate to find anything that'd help me get through twelve hours in the car. The Obus Forme made the trip bearable, and has continued to be a comfort in the car every day since. Now I won't drive/ride without it.

I have been an Obus backrest user for years. They are not that comfortable, but using them continuously does wonders for your back problem.

However, I just can't see any benefit from the seat. It does make some seats softer, but $ 50 is a lot for what I consider a cosmetic item. Put your money into another backrest.

Product was Great for about a week. Product is obviously not made for anyone over above 250 lbs. Still feels better than my junk chair, but in the future I will purchase a better chair.

I bought this to replace my 12 year old Obus cushion that was losing its cover. I use it because of an old lower back injury which flares up when I jolt my spine when I drive. It is exactly the same expert seat as the old version and provides me with what I need to drive for hours without pain.

I have back issue and use this in my car, It is very comfortable and keeps your lower back comfy, would recommend as additional comfort for your car for longer driving trips
