5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Is Full Of Hard-Hitting Truth
This book is for all Christians out there who know what the word "Christian" means. It means "follower of Christ" (or close to that). It does not mean "good person" or "person who reads the Bible" or "person who goes to church". Unless you believe that Christ died to pay for your sins YOU ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN!!! 2.0 out of 5 stars A mixed Bag
I wasn't quite sure how to rate this book. There are some good things about this book, and some that I found very disturbing.

I have read a couple of Dave Hunt's other books. I don't agree 100% with everything he says. But then again, Mr. Hunt does not pull any punches. He is brutally honest. I can definitely see how people could say he comes across as...

This is a fact that many people out there just do not get. This is Dave Hunt's major premise and he is rock solid in this. Sure there are Catholics & Orthodox believers who are good people, but they are not Christians and thus they are leading people away from the true faith. Catholicism is chuck full of idolatry (the worship of the Virgin Mary) and mysticism - the fact that they believe that priests can forgive sins is a perfect example of why Catholics are not Christians. If you feel that people should go to heaven simply because "they are good people" or because "they went to church", then this is not the book for you and you will probably be angered by Dave Hunt's closed mind and mean spirit. But if you are a true believer, know that Christ died for your sins, and you want to keep yourself aware of the snares of the devil, then this is a "must read"!

5.0 out of 5 stars Keep writing Dave!!!, October 29, 2001

This review is from: Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church (Paperback)
I have been reading Dave Hunt's books since my college days back in the late 1980s. The Occult Invasion is a book that every Christian should read. I realize that Dave Hunt is controversial in some circles and some people feel that he is too "judgmental". However, sometimes we have to judge between what is true or false, and between right and wrong. The things that Mr. Hunt points out need to be examined. The truth is the truth but unfortunately a lot of people don't want to be bothered with the truth. Dave, I don't have a clue if you ever read these reviews but if you do, I just want to encourage you to keep going. God Bless ...

4.0 out of 5 stars In-depth study of the Occult. Required reading., December 2, 2002

This is one of the most in-depth studies on the Occult that I have come across to date.

Dave Hunt investigates a whole plethora of subjects which are Occult-based or Occult-related.

These stem from spirit communication & possession, Eastern Mysticism, the New Age movements, Holistic Medicine, Drugs, Evolution, Psychology, aspects of the Catholic Church, UFO's, Angels, Ghosts, Near Death Experiences and Spiritual Warfare, to mention just a few.

Some 600 pages or more in length, this is quite a commendable and very thorough work.

Why have I not given it a five-star rating ? For one reason & one reason only. That being I find Dave Hunt's criticism and condemnation of many modern day evangelists, (who he names personally), to be somewhat disturbing.

Although I can see where the author is `coming from', I would far rather such comments to have been directed towards the reader being advised to interpret the works of these evangelists in the light of God's Word, rather than personally condemning them outright. I feel uneasy about such personal criticism.

Having said that, this book does an excellent job in describing the blatant and overt Occult practices at work today and how the deadly, deceptive tentacles of the Occult have invaded even many aspects of the Church. The book also studies how the coming one-world religion will form the basis of the Antichrist's regime/world-empire.

This is recommended reading on the Occult.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zeroing in on the Occult, August 17, 2002

Yes, Dave Hunt has targeted what he believes to be the invasion of the Occult into mainstream America, as well as the Christian Church. The Church needs to beware and route out these nefarious influences or suffer the fate of those who have fallen and never gotten up again. While some of these influences appear to be benign and unassuming, it is important that Dave Hunt has targeted them and zeroed in, equipping believers. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars An eye-opening exposé that every Christian should read, July 30, 2001

You would be amazed at how the occult is easily invading mainstream Christianity. Dave Hunt gives well-documented proof that Christians are becoming merely frogs in the kettle of water, slowing warming around us to boil us alive. This book will help to open your eyes to just how hot the water is becoming.

Hunt shows how the occult has permeated so many aspects of our lives such as psychology, public schools, our churches, etc. Although Hunt gives his opinion on these issues, he also provides more than adequate documentation to back up each of his statements. It is easy to read and hard to put down. It stirs the soul and challenges the spirit to be more alert to the world's strategies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take an honest look at the evidence, February 12, 2007
This review is from: Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church (Paperback)
Some of the occult issues which are addressed in this book are obvious, and some of them are more subtle, but much of the evidence which Dave gives is very clear. I may not agree with every single sentence in this book (any disagreements that I have are minor) but I think it is an extremely important book which deserves an honest read. It seems to cover almost every area of the occult that one could think of.

Some people think that Dave Hunt is being to hard on people, but I think that he is just being straight-forward, and many people are simply not used to that. They are used to being told what they want to hear, and what appeals to their emotions...but our emotions do not determine whether or not something is true. Whether or not we are being "positive" or "negative" is simply not the issue. The issue is whether or not we are being REALISTIC. Anyone who has read the Bible should know that it presents BOTH positive and negative truths. So true Christianity is neither negativism or positivism, but it is REALISM.

So I think that Dave needs to be straight-forward about some of the negative issues that he has addressed in this book, because the world is being setup for the "strong delusion" which is clearly described in 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12, and there is certainly nothing "positive" about that! Do we believe the entire Bible or just the "positive" parts of it? Truth is truth whether it is positive or not, so I think we might as well face the facts honestly. The coming delusion mentioned in that passage is not God's fault, because it will come on those who, deep inside, wanted to believe that something else was the truth (perhaps something which they considered to be more "positive"). So God will one day let people believe the lie that they insist on believing. And what else can He do for a world that insists on rejecting His salvation?

From some of the negative reviews that I have seen here, it seems that some of the reviewers have not really taken the time to take an honest look at the evidence which is presented in this book. But I think that those who do will find it to be a very important book. So I recommend that people take an honest look at the evidence which is presented in this book before believing any of the accusations that have been made here.

This book is a wake up call to an increasingly deluded world. I believe that that the delusion in the world will take it's full effect when "the son of perdition" (2 Thessalonians 2:3) is revealed, which could be very soon, considering how strong the delusion in the world already is.

Standing for the truth is obviously not popular, and THAT is why the world hates those who are not of this world (See John 15:18-19). If Dave Hunt was in this for the money, than he would write books that actually appeal to people rather than warning them about deception. In fact, that is obviously what most people would rather do. But I am glad that there are still a few compassionate people like Dave Hunt who are willing to warn people about deception, although there are few who will listen. I highly recommend this important book!

5.0 out of 5 stars the best book dave hunt had written so far, December 13, 1999

This review is from: Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church (Paperback)
THis book has been a heaven's sent for me. Before I read the book, I thought that I was the only one to hold those views. I was happy to find out that he holds the same views, and that I am not alone in my convicitions. THis book is a must-read for everyone who wants to find out about the apostasy in the last days. What is going on in churches today in the name of Christ is shocking. If we love our fellow Christians as much as our Lord commands us to do, we should be informed about the apostasy so that we can teach, correct, and rebuke in love. If we do not, the Lord will hold us accountable one day. Dave Hunt's honesty in unmasking many leaders, pastors and preachers in the church is very much appreciated and needed today. God bless you, Dave, and keep up the good work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Concerned with the "worlds" spiritual decline? Read it!!!, October 5, 1999
This review is from: Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church (Paperback)
Mr. Hunt gives a "shoot-from-the-hip" and take no prisoners approach to the biblical standards of our time. We are so used to being spoon fed and not held accountable for our choices. Well, once you read this book, you will have a decision to make. One you may not find too easy. He makes the way to the Father plain and simple. You must either take the narrow or broad path. He removes the blinders and the light is so bright because we have been asleep far too long. Mr. Hunt has a wake-up call for us all and we haven't any time for a snooze....

5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes the Truth is hard to swallow, October 4, 2004
This review is from: Occult Invasion: The Subtle Seduction of the World and Church (Paperback)
I was saddened to read so many attacks on Dave Hunt and "The Occult Invasion". He may be blunt, but he needs to be. Our country and world are going down the toilet quickly, and someone needs to sound a wakeup call. Mr. Hunt has done so. I know that many feel that Jesus was just a great teacher. But, there is so much more to it than that. I would encourage any and all to open your Bible to John and seek out the verse which clearly states, "you must be born again", as well as, " "no one comes to the Father, except through me". Jesus Christ was the Son of God, who came for the sins of mankind, was crucified and rose again on the third day. We ask him in to our heart, pray sincerely for forgiveness of our sins and by faith, receive it has been done. It is a gift by which we are saved. Why would anyone refuse this sacrifice? It cannot be earned by being a good person or following man-made traditions. The Bible is clear "not to add to, or take away from its word". Tragic that so many place more faith in their particular church's doctrine or tradition, than they do the Word of God. Jesus Christ was not about religion, but love. Mr. Hunt knows that, and is simply trying to tell the world a Truth they do not wish to swallow. But it is a Truth that will set them free.
