5.0 out of 5 stars Occupational Outlook Handbook 2009, May 27, 2009

This review is from: Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2009 (Occupational Outlook Handbook (Norton)) (Paperback)
This book is an excellent overview of many possible occupations and careers. We are using it as a home school resource to encourage familiarity with many different occupations, what is entailed with each one and how one prepares for them. The book is very through and informative.

5.0 out of 5 stars Career Information Bible, November 9, 2009

This review is from: Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2009 (Occupational Outlook Handbook (Norton)) (Paperback)
We use this as a reference for our home (and homeschool) library. It is THE best resource for looking up facts about various careers. My ten year old even enjoys browsing it! Over the years, this book will become more valuable for me as I make high school curriculum choices since it outlines the academic subjects essential for each professional field.

By the way, the entire text is available free online, but it's so much easier to reference a book than a computer screen. This book is BIG -- like a thick phone book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of info, but not what I was expecting, September 14, 2010
This review is from: Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2009 (Occupational Outlook Handbook (Norton)) (Paperback)
Depending on the price, you're better off going to the library and checking the book out. I expected a lot more detail. It has salaries and a brief description of careers.
