The practice of OT continues to be influenced by greater awareness of the needs of children with disabilities, expansion of the theory and practice of psychology, medical science and occupational therapy, and the impact of twentieth century technology on the diagnosis, care and treatment of children. This book has been written to present current principles and practice underlying Occupational Therapy intervention with children. It is designed for use by students and newly-qualified occupational therapists. However, other professionals in education and social care, and parents, may also find it of value to gain an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy with children.
