5.0 out of 5 stars This author is awesome February 24, 2012

I hesitate to read books by new authors...especially those that have not been published by a publisher or read by an editor. I have read books where they have horrible grammar and spelling issues...I have read some that they are completely psychotic and I feel the author probably needs to go on some pretty heavy antipsychotic meds. I have read books that I could care less what happened to the characters because the author never allowed us have a connection. However this book is not like any of those other books at all. Yes there are a few grammar and spelling errors, but not too much that it drove me crazy. This author is amazing, and I can't understand why he is not published by a publisher. You publishers out there, please pick him up you won't regret it!

As I read this story I found myself a part of it...I felt what Broc felt...I wanted to cheer Nadia and her crew on....I wanted to fight with them and stand up with them...I found myself wanting to shout for them to hold on they can make it. I found myself so involved in this story that I had no idea what was going on around me, and was disappointed when I was brought back to reality. I was more than just reading this story I was actually experiencing it with all the characters.

The only disappointing thing of this whole story is that the book ended. I really hope this author is writing more books. I can't wait to read more books written by him. I also hope that a publisher will pick this up...there are few books that I want to add to my actual library outside of my e-library...but this is one that I would want to have always. It's a book that I have recommended to my friends...and will continue to recommend it to my friends...what more can I say, than that it is awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely captivating!! February 9, 2012

I could not put this book down. To say it is intriguing would be under mining the amazing writing and story that is in this book. The way the author describes every detail, makes the story come alive and takes you to a world you could never have imagined. The main character, Broc, carries all the traits a "hero" would need, yet he is incredibly rich with soul, compassion, fire, and heart that other novels tend to over look in a "hero.". The story kept me hoping as adrenaliine, grief, anger, love, excitement and every other emotion found its way inside me. No matter what genre you prefer to read, you will find it in this book. It captures you and really makes you think while completely entertaining you page after page. I am ecstatic, to say the least, that this may be a series and I look forward to reading every book!
Well done! Well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book February 7, 2012

I usually go through the new arrivals in the amazon kindle store in hopes of finding new books that I can really get into and enjoy. I take alot of chances on new authors because I love to read. Too many times the new authors and books I read are so unrefined and many times not ready for publication. I review very few of the books I read. However, this book was just a fun book to read. i thoroughly enjoyed the story and the way the author told the story. it was worth the time to review this book in the hopes that others might find it enjoyable.

The story centers on Broc and his adventure and transformation as he learns who he is in the wake of some horrible things that have happened to his friends and close ones. There is enough mystery going that it propels you into the story to find out more and explore the world with Broc as he is learning new things. The interresting part of this story is in the magic system. I liked how the author set it up. Essentially, the magic users are called Pirates. These pirates have the ability to use power to enhance themselves. Each one of the 'pirates' has a unique ability or 'talent' that they can use. I dont want to give too much away, but its a fun idea and I thought it was great.

Thinking back on the book, one of the things I enjoyed was the vivid imagery that the author used in describing the world. I could almost picture the beautiful panoramic scenes as the story progressed.

From the begiining, I found myself obsorbed into the book and couldnt put it down. I was through with it before I knew it and am very eager for more. There are maybe a handful of small little mistakes in the printing, but overall I was not in the least bit thrown off by it. I thought the book was great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down! August 21, 2013

This is one of those books that you can't put down after you read the first page. The story just sucks you right in! The author does a great job with the imagery to make it feel as if you are there in the story, living and seeing everything with the characters. I felt like everything was explained well but some things are still left unanswered and I hope they will be answered in the other books. The characters were very relatable and easy to like, or dislike, whatever the case may be. The book had a great flow through out. It never got long and tedious during sections or too fast paced either. I'm excited (and can't wait) to see what else is in store for the next books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read! December 10, 2012

This book was truly enjoyable. I found myself thinking about the characters and story during the day when I wasn't reading, wondering what would happen and where the story would go. I felt there was a perfect balance between action/adventure, and caring/compassion, along with real character development. I found myself sad that it was over and will anxiously await another chapter to this riveting story.
