A scaled down version of the popular Trident 15, the Trident 13 was designed by professional kayak anglers looking to maximize features in a 13-foot hull. The adjustable foot braces fit most leg lengths and allow you to ride with ease--a great choice for inland waters, slow moving rivers and moderate ocean swells. Other features include a RodPod for easy access to your fishing rods while seated, a transducer-compatible scupper for using an electronic fish finder, small tackle box, side-mounted carry handles, and molded-in cup holder.
The Sonar Shield storage compartment enables you to store your fish finder under the shield to protect it during transit or through the waves. Pop up the fish finder and use the shield to reduce the glare of sunlight for an easier screen reading.

This Ocean Kayak boat includes a Comfort Plus Seat Back for couch-like comfort on the water. Extra foam padding provides the ultimate in comfort and support, while its four-way adjustability provides a custom fit for almost any body type. Sit-on-top kayaks have similar hull shapes to their traditional counterparts, but instead of sitting inside the kayak, you sit in a molded-in depression on top. The unique Ocean Kayak open cockpit allows you to enter and exit the kayak easily from the shore, dock, or water, and paddle without feeling confined. In a sit-on-top, you can safely enjoy all the pleasures of kayaking without having to learn difficult self-rescue maneuvers. People of all ages and skill levels can feel like experts in a sit-on-top.
Ocean Kayaks are made from the finest linear, medium-density polyethylene (PE), which is virtually indestructible under normal use and is somewhat flexible so that it gives on impact--preventing it from cracking while maintaining its stiffness. The PE powder is rotationally molded in a large oven, where the mold spins around until the powder has melted and formed into the kayak. Additionally, mold-in graphics are baked right into the boat, which prevents graphic peeling and keeps the boat looking great years after purchase. The materials also have ultra-violet inhibitors blended in to help prevent the plastic from breaking down in the sun. Note, however, that plastic does break down when exposed to the sun over long periods of time, and Ocean Kayaks recommends storing your kayak under a tarp or in a covered storage area.

This kayak works great for a larger man. I am very active 6ft 300lb person who fishes almost every day, and this boat works well for me. I have tried other kayaks and the boats ride so low in the water that I feel like I am sinking. If you do weigh 250 or more lbs I would get the scupper plugs for colder weather fishing. The boat tracks well and is pretty easy to paddle.

Took two weeks to receive and the packaging was half off. My buddy bought the same kayak through Austin Kayak and received it in 5 days with packaging that took an hour to peel off. The first thing I did was pick it up by the side handle which abruptly broke ($30 to fix). Got to inspecting it and noticed that there were no flush mount rod holders that are shown in numerous pictures(I cannot even find these on Oceankayak web site). After going 0 for 3 within the first 5 minutes I put it in the water and I love it. It's comfortable and tracks really well. It's a bulky kayak to try and carry around (i.e. broken handle) so I would definitely get a carrier for it. For the money I spent I had real high expectations and was left a little disappointed.

Ocean Kayak Prowler Trident 13 Angler Sit-On-Top Recreational Fishing Kayak I bought this model for the stability, tracking, and design that after trail and error many professional kayak designers was able to suggest factors that maximized the pro's and minimized the con's. I weigh 250 pounds and I like to fish. So within my equiptment I want to take with me is a Minn Kota trolling motor, trolling motor mount, a 5 inch Humminbird 788c Combo fishfinder with GPS, Compass, A size 27 deep cycle battery, fishing rods, tackle box, bait, small ice chest, life preserver and other items too numerous to mention. I can't forget the possibilitys of catching 10 or more pounds of fish to take home and plenty of food to bite into ---in case the fish ain't biting. Considering all the items in your kayak most will be tied down a lot can be lost because of a toss - the stability was the largest factor of buying this model. The weight capacity of this modeled kayak gives me this extra weight allowance. Because this Kayak is 13 feet 6 inches it's tracking and speed is favorable better than the 8' and 10' kayaks I've tried out. If I was to choose the 15' trident angler it would be an overbite. Extra weight and Hauling length would be the negetive factors for me. If this kayak can handle 2 and 3 foot swells or more in the ocean - just think how safe it will be for me in a small lake. I should mention when I received this kayak from Amazon that a side handle was defective. I made a complaint to Ocean Kayak and they sent me new replacement - hassel free and received it within 5 days - wow was that reasonable! Anyway I like it - I bought it. If there are a kayak out their in this world that is better in comparesome - it will have to stay there. I can only afford one, and I feel I made an excellant choice.
