Beware!...You think you are ordering Ocean surf sounds, and what you get are Ocean sounds dubbed with funky new age music! If you think you are getting nature, forget it. These CD's misrepresent their true contents...If you want relaxing natural sounds than pass this whole label up. Very dissapointing!

Disagree with Idaho Wildman: This CD, and others from this label, have relatively subtle musical tones used to enhance natural sound recordings. Other labels I have heard have too much music, others too little: Unison's is just right. In no way is the label misrepresenting itself: "Enhanced with Music" is right on the CD. This is the best mixed, best recorded environmental natural sound recording I have found to date.

I first heard this cd at a daycare I worked at, they played it during nap time while the children slept. I thought it was the most peaceful music I had heard. I never knew what the name was and was always looking at the stores for ocean waves or sounds, anything that might be what I was looking for. I finally stumbled upon it on accident and was soo excited! I listen to it when I am having a difficult time sleeping or if I need to "unwind" after a hectic day. I even made a copy of it for my grandma who is 80 years old, and she enjoys it as well! It is the perfect music for a good rest for any age! I think the music in the background is very subtle and not too overbearing, and adds to the serenity of the waves crashing. I would recommend this to anyone who has an infant who is fussy or anyone with sleep problems, just turn it on (on a low volume) and turn off everything else and just imagine you are really out by the water!

on a side note: if you listen to the sample of this cd, it really does a poor job of portraying the sounds correctly, I listened just to see if it was the same one I had and it sounded nothing like what the cd sounds like, so you will just have to have faith!

I have no idea what the other complaints are about. I just listened to the entire MP3 track which I just bought from Amazon. There is no funky new age music nor any music whatsoever. It is just a nice, relatively consistent, and thankfully uneventful, track of gentle ocean wave sounds--from a distance. There are no crashing waves, loud seagulls, etc. Similar to pure white noise, but more pleasant. I didn't notice any repetition, but I wasn't really listening for it, either. Maybe the physical CD version is different?

I've looked and looked for this cd and so glad to find one here. I left mine by mistake in a vacation home, brought home an empty case. For relaxation and sounds to go to sleep by there is nothing better. The minimal amount of music only enhances the ocean sounds...take it from someone who lived by the ocean. This is almost as good as being there.

Before you buy something and end up leaving a scathing review I suggest you listen to the preview. Get a clue!
