5.0 out of 5 stars captivates baby for active play
THis is a great product! At 5 or 6 weeks when baby starts sleeping less they want to play. This play gym engages them without over stimulating them. I like the detachable rattles. There is also a series of songs that play in calypso style music which are captivating to baby and not annoying to mom/dad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs more padding
It is great in terms of the activities, lights and colors. The downside is the cover that goes over the "boat" which your child lays on is very thin and underneath is the hard plastic of the frame. I had to put padding under the cover so the baby would be comfortable. If they made the pad with some thickness it would be exceptional.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toy, February 17, 2005

We bought this product when my son was 9-10 weeks. He's now 3 months and continues to love this toy...he lies in it and watches the colorful and lighted fish of its steering wheel while playing with the fish that hang from above!! When he kicks his legs and feet, it initiates the tropical sea/water-based songs to play! He also likes to hit the fish rattle that is on the side of the boat. This was the best money we spent for him when we bought it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Cute but not well made, January 14, 2005
This review is from: Ocean Wonders Rockin' Aquarium Gym (Toy)
This is a very cute toy and my son enjoys batting at the rattles, but, like others have mentioned, the wheel gets stuck often and makes a horrible clicking noise (mine hasn't stopped working altogether yet) and when it is turning the engine makes a rather large churning noise. I expected better quality from Fisher Price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great toy if it would not keep breaking, December 5, 2004

This is an excellent toy for 3 months and up. Our grandaughter is 4 months and loves it. The fish are soft and have cute faces she can see. She likes to watch the wheel go around with the lights and music. She can make it go on her with pulling on the fish, but if she doesn't she starts to fuse until we push the button again.

The problem: We have had 2 so far in about 4 weeks. The wheel begins to click and then stops all together. This is very disappointing because I can not find anything similar to this for her. I did call Fisher Price and did not get any help except to send it back to them at my expense and they would send me another one, of course allow 4 to 6 weeks. That was not much help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased!!, January 27, 2006

I got this for my grand daughter and she just loves it. She is 3 months old now and has had it for a month. She has always been able to activate it by kicking her feet or hitting the toys on the side. We helped her to learn it by showing her several times that when she did it the music and lights would play and it didn't take long till she was kicking her feet to make it work or flinging had hands at the toy closest to her to make it come on. Aside from it not folding flat it is well worth the money as it can be taken out side and she will still be able to activate the music and lights because of the molded plastic is curved on the bottom which makes it easier to rock it and the other 3 gyms she has are not self activated or don't even play music at all. So it is worth it!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this!, April 16, 2005

I bought this item because I couldn't find the leap frog leapstart playmat. This thing is junk! First of all, it's not very soft for a little baby to be playing on. Under the thin piece of frabic is hard plastic. The fabric doesn't even cover all of the plastic. Second, once your baby starts moving around a little, there is no place for him/her to move. The thing is just not big enough. Another thing is the yellow coverings on the sides do not screw on all the way. You can only turn the screws in a little before they are too tight to turn anymore. The picture even shows the yellow covering on the left side falling apart. When I realized this, that's when I started to take it apart. I will return it for something else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Cute and Entertaining Toy, March 9, 2005
This review is from: Ocean Wonders Rockin' Aquarium Gym (Toy)
I originally bought this for my 2 month old son so I could lay him down on the floor in the living room and not worry that my 6 and 9 year old would forget he was there and accidentally step on him. While in the infant position the toy bar serves as a visual reminder since he is a pretty content guy and doesn't fuss all that often. I also like that I don't have to throw down and smooth out a blanket which can be a challenge while holding a little one that can't sit on his own. I can just grab the toy/gym one-handed.

I did find that sometimes it is difficult for him to rock the base enough to activate the lights and music but I have discovered that if I just reposition him (slide his feet closer to the end of the boat so that the toys are right over head) he can get the music going on his own without too much trouble. He has really enjoyed reaching for the fish as they dangle down and has been rewarded if he actually gets his hands on one for they easily detach.

I have noticed some clicking like previous reviewers have reported but ours doesn't do it all the time. It mostly seems to happen when the batteries are weaker or he puts his feet on the revolving wheel. But even if it does click occasionally it doesn't seem to bother him because the music and lights are still going.

The music is cute and the attachable toys are adoreable (An additional accessory set with a different set of toys for variance would be nice), my now 4 month old son loves to talk and babble at the dangling fish. We have been very pleased with our purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ahoy all active babies!, December 14, 2004

This review is from: Ocean Wonders Rockin' Aquarium Gym (Toy)
As the mother of three children who all loved to kick as infants, I have some experience with kick/motion gyms. This product definitely seems to reward my latest addition's antics. Our three-month old used her older siblings' Kick Start gym until she kicked it out of commission. Since it was our second kick gym, we decided to purchase something different and found this boat. While she needs to exert a little more energy to get it moving, she is enthralled with the aquarium toy once she does. The sound has 2 levels and plays some quirky little tunes while the lights blink and the fish move around. She has just started to grab onto rattles and burp cloths and seems to like holding onto the lobster who sits on the left side of the boat. It's really a cute toy. Overall, I rate this product highly because it definitely keeps her attention for about a half hour. I can only assume that she'll use it more once she can reach the fish or rock the boat more to start the aquarium.

Overall, this was very easy to assemble and took us about 5-10 minutes. You'll need a screwdriver for some parts, but otherwise just need to snap some items into place.

If you have a tiny baby, he/she probably won't be able to make the boat rock, so you'll need to jiggle it a little to start the aquarium. However, there is a button that you can press that makes it automatically start for about 5 minutes.
