I believe this is the best book on the subject of ocean (pelagic) birds I have read. It is perfect for someone with a general science background (but not a biologist) who is interested in more than a field guide. It is very thorough in its discusion of how these birds evolved and survive while living at sea. I am disappointed that it is out of print.
