This is a great story and the illustrations are adorable. It has a good lesson -- not just about staying determined and not giving up, but also about how to handle situations gracefully when you're being teased or made fun of. The only negative is that for the price, you would expect it to be interactive (things to touch that move, etc.), but it's not. The voices of the readers are very nice though.

Not only are Eric Drachman's book very well done, but so is this app! His books and this app (and the other apps of his books) are a MUST for anyone (teachers, parents, grandparents, etc.) who is involved with young children. Kudos!

My 4 and 5 yo boys, who are biracial, love this story becasue it's about a bug that doesn't fit in but finds a way to make friends and value himself. Great book, great message

Ben was initially engrossed when I told him this book is about a lightning bug. He was mesmerized at Leo but as we reached the middle of the story, he starts to lose interest and moved on to play with his toys.
* I love the beautiful illustrations!
* Storyline wise is good as it teaches us not to give up and keep on trying until we succeed.
What's not so good?
* The volume is a bit too soft. I've adjusted everything to the max and yet still am not able to listen clearly to the narrations. Maybe this is why Ben lost interest halfway through the app.
