Both times I was upgraded to the Geo 2.0!

Dive planning is easy and intuitive, simply set your FO2 level (air or nitrox percent) and the dive plan screen gives you the info you need.

I've been window shopping for a dive computer and have wanted the Oceanic GEO 2, but not the price that went along with it. I then looked at this watch and saw the other review. I thought, no way. So I took the gamble, bought it, opened it up and found a brand new Geo 2 in the box. I couldn't believe it. I figured the other review was BS. I'm smiling ear to ear.

Since my review is at the top, I figured I'd go ahead and review the Geo 2, rather than just be happy with getting a Geo 2 at a discounted price.

The Geo 2 uses a 3 button navigation system. There are a LOT of menus, so if you are new, this can be very confusing and daunting. The good news is, once you get used to the important menu selections, the computer becomes quite easy to use. When you purchase this computer, be sure to register it and you'll get credit for free online training. I completed all the training, which was VERY helpful. I'd review sections after dives to reinforce how to interpret the screen and access sub screens. Now I have no problems navigating the computer and find myself annoyed when using my one button backup computer.

Personally, I wear this as a watch all the time, it's stylish and comfortable. I love being able to view the dive logs and talk to fellow divers at work about my dives. I have yet to replace the battery, so I'm not sure how long the battery will last.

If you are looking for a good starter computer, this one may have a complex and confusing menu system. I used it as my first dive computer and just got used to it. Several of the settings made more sense once I got my Nitrox cert. Dive planning is easy and intuitive, simply set your FO2 level (air or nitrox percent) and the dive plan screen gives you the info you need.

Wow! I ordered the "old Style and it was a good price for the "Old Style". I was pleasantly suprized when I opened the box and a new Geo 2 was sitting there. I have not used it yet, but I did find the instruction manual tedious and hard to follow. I did find the YouTube videos a great help and recommend 1st time users to watch and learn.

I was searching for a dive computer, when I found this product advertising a GEO 1 model, although previous reviewers noted that after ordering this they received the GEO 2. Well the same the same thing happened to me, and the value is fantastic. I have priced this watch at retail dive outlets, and you are getting a great bargain for about $150 less. As I was concerned about the delivery date and an impending dive trip, I contacted the seller to request an immediate dispatch, which they did the same day I placed the order and arrived in plenty of time.

About the watch itself. I have used it on 13 dives to date, and have had zero issues. When you purchase the watch you get free online access to digital training on the use and setup of the watch which is well worth it initially, and after several uses it becomes user friendly to navigate the menus. I found using this dive computer that although it uses algorithms that are designed to keep you within recognized dive safety parameters, it was far less restrictive on my dive no-comp times than my buddy using a suunto. Also has a useful feature that you can switch to the FREE mode during a series of dives, and while snorkeling if you free dive it will continue to add nitrogen loading to your times.

Overall this is a great dive computer for the price and I highly recommend.

This is a great computer at a great price. I've been diving 40 Years and have used a number of computers.
PROS- Very full functioned, has all the possible features and settings that can be found on a computer.
CONS- The numbers are large and easy to read but the labels that tell you what the numbers represent are extremely small and so close to the edges that they are difficult to read. The computer came with a certificate for the Oceanic on-line course which was a nice thought, however the online course is for the GEO and the buttons on the GEO2 function very differently. Print the 42 page manual that us on the included CD and work from that. You can throw out the quick reference card as it is too small to read. Overall the computer gets 5 stars but the printed materials brought the rating down to 4 stars.

I also received the "Geo 2" after ordering the "Old Style". Was not blue, (black), but thrilled with the upgrade. Looking forward to trying it out in the Bahamas in a couple of weeks!

I really like the blue colored old style GEO ,instead I received the GEO 2. I'll trade the good looks for the functionality. The GEO 2 has more features and considering I could have paid $150 more for the GEO 2... I'm a happy diver.

I saw others claim to receive the Geo 2 when ordering the Geo "Old Style". I actually did receive the 'old style' box, but inside was the Geo 2. This is likely due to Oceanic cutting manufacturing of the original Geo, and fulfilling it's final orders with the Geo 2. If your in the market for a starter dive computer, this is a great opportunity.

The Geo 2 is comfortable on the wrist, and 'fairly' easy to navigate. By this, i mean it's easy enough to get from screen to screen and edit the options, but for a beginner diver like me, i'm not sure what ALL the acronyms mean. SO, it is good to read the manual, as well as register for the free online course where a series of videos teach you about the 'Normal Dive' mode (does not instruct on Free dive or watch mode, but those are easy enough to understand after the normal dive mode)

I have taken it to some pool action, and i am pretty happy with it. I believe i should be happy with this computer for a few years at least.

MY ONLY ISSUE: it doesn't come with the computer cable to download the data from the watch and review it on the PC.
