I just bought the mahogany hamper for $84 and disappointed is an understatement. I usually don't write to companies when I'm not totally happy with a product but the fact that I paid $84 for this hamper is really disappointing. My husband already took the box out to the paper recycling bin down the road so sending it back is not an option.

Don't get me wrong, I totally appreciate that you sent to an overseas military address, and hopefully the hamper will work and make it through at least one military move, but I'm not optimistic. We are both mechanically inclined people who built our own home with our bare hands when we lived in the States but this thing was SUCH a hassle to put together. Most pieces did not line up properly & the bottom board was caked with paint on one edge so it did not fit right in slots & we had to get a razor to shave it down. The mahogany "finish" is nothing more than painted wood and was chipped and scratched beneath the white padding it shipped in. Box it came in was not damaged in shipping, just chinsey paint or application I assume. I had to screw in the screws part-way & remove in the "pre-drilled" holes for the top before trying to line it up with the hinges without totally messing it up and once assembled it was lopsided so that one edge of the top was almost flush with the side while the other side had an overhang. I would have been better off getting our tool kit out & setting up my own screw marks.

All in all, I would have been unhappy if I had paid $30 for the hamper, never mind the $84 it cost me. I think you should improve your product or reduce the price its selling for since it was not worth it for me.

When assembled it looks nice except the colour is more purpled than mahogeny. I remember my father having shoes this colour called Oxblood by the polish makers can. there are some small rubs where this knowledge helped me get shoe polish that made perfect covering.
I really do like the style and look of the hamper but the colour keeps it in the closet. If I had gone with the lighter color I would give this a five star review, so I need to just say have two people there when you go to attach the lid. Really, or a set of clamps to keep it in place and predrill the screw holes because the marking spots are not deep enough to get the screws to seat. Assembled and touched up it is a VERY good looking piece. Honestly it shouild never have been called Mahogany and, the purple tint maks it NOT Dark Oak.
The Hamper can work in my room as long as it has its own place away from another contrasting piece of furniture. I need a bigger room. hagar101

After two days of trying to assemble this hamper in a manner so that it wouldn't fall apart every time I opened the lid I finally gave up and returned it. I never write reviews but I wanted to make sure that no one else experiences the aggravation, frustration, and anger I went through over a two day period thanks to this product. It's very beautiful once you get it assembled, so I'm really bummed the quality of the product sucks so much. SAVE YOURSELF!

The Hamper is beautiful and exactly as described. It matches my cherry bedroom suite perfectly. It arrived in a timely manner and I would definitely do business with this merchant. The only thing I would ask is that it SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELED "REQUIRES ASSEMBLY". We were surprised to see it arrive in such a small box. It took me about 15-30 minutes to assemble, but I could see that some folks might have a hard time following the instructions. Overall, I am extremely happy with the product.

The hamper has a lovely finish and design. I just wish it was better made; I've put together many-a-piece-of-funiture in my days, and this one is just plain flimsy. The sides are falling off and the hamper bag rods never stay in place. If this is for heavy use, I would advise you to pass on this one.
