The game is totally addicting, The guitar levels are easy for anyone to play, and the songs get stuck in your head (what's the downside of that, they are all pretty classic).

Overall, this is a pretty good prodcut, the guitar doesn't feel like it is going to snap in two, and some of the combo's of the game are pretty intense.

This is however, not a toy for the conservative christian. Some of the content in the songs (like Shout at the Devil) or some of the images in the game can be a bit out of the comfort zone of down home Bible thumpers and their quest to protect/isolate/emotionally scar their children as pure as possible for as long as possible. I can say this without any real reservation because my parents are conservative bible thumpers, lol.

But for the other 95% percent of the population, this is a highly enjoyable game, especially when you are in 2 player mode. Most other games can't tie in focus on perfection and precision. Guitar Hero does this almost effortlessly. The longer you keep on playing those notes perfectly, the higher the multiplier is for your score, you screw up in the middle of a song, your multplier busts down to zero. Don't worry though, you can always work your way back up.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Good price, nice clean WORKING guitar (I ordered from a different seller previously and they sent me a lemon). I received this days before the estimated delivery date. I'm very happy I chose this guitar out of all the other ones available on Amazon.

I'm not very good at this game, but this is a reliable controller and it looks good. The button presses are firm and I like how popular I am with the chicks now that I've got a red guitar!

Pros
- Frets, strum-bar, whammy, start and select buttons have excellent functionality
- Exceedingly durable (arguably more durable than most of the new guitars Red Octane made recently)
- Works with the Rock Band series and Rock Revolution
- It's not too heavy
- Did I mention how durable this thing is?
- Does not require batteries for obvious reasons

Cons
- Requires an adapter for PS3 users (I recommend the TAC adapter, if you can find one)
- Aesthetics leave much to be desired, but functionality will win you over
- It's not wireless, but this is more of a preference than an issue
- "Start" and "Select" buttons are too close to one another, which may result in unintentional simultaneous
activation of both buttons (on the PS3, this will bring up the XMB crossbar menu).


I purchased this guitar USED and I think it's one of the best purchases I've made. None of the issues that have plagued other guitars have appeared on this guitar and I've had extensive sessions with this guitar. I've had it for nearly a year and it works like a charm every time. Not to mention, I use this guitar on my PS3 (granted I have a flawed TAC adapter) and its functionality is extremely similar to its functionality on the PS2. Do yourself a favor and get this guitar new before Red Octane kicks the bucket or hope you get one that was not damaged by nuclear warfare. It is a purchase worth every penny.

The kid really likes it and hasn't broken it yet. It does not have the Guitar Hero software so you will need that.
