A pleasant surprise, September 13, 2007
This book sounded interesting, but so far-fetched that I figured I'd have to check my brains at the door. Imagine my surprise when I found myself buying into the story.
Neither Sara or Nora were innocents, and found themselves sexually attracted to each other. So, yes they did have casual sex - pretty hot casual sex. But that still didn't mean they trusted each other. And it certainly doesn't mean they fall in love...did it?
I've met the author and based on my knowledge of her military experiences, I am sure the military aspects were very accurate. As for the Irish Terrorist underworld and the workings of the FBI...all I can say is that I believed what she wrote.
Nora spoke with an Irish dialect. I'm not generally fond of special dialects in books - but it wasn't over done and I found hers very easy to follow. In fact, for a couple of days after reading the book, I found myself thinking with a bit of an Irish dialect.
The book has many surprising twists and turns. I would have to say it is one of the best adventure books I've read. If you like adventure, intrigue, betrayal, conspiracy theories and hot sex, you will definitely love this book.
Note - I only post "reviews" for books that I highly recommend.

Great story line! Wonderfully writen, February 6, 2007
When I first read the summary of this book I wasn't interested in reading it however, after I read Graskey's other book I couldn't wait to get a hold of it. The story is fast paced with plot twists and romance and I am sure it will become as well read (numerous times) as her first novel was for me.

Dramatic! Suspenseful!, November 29, 2004
This review is from: October Echoes (Paperback)
What do you do when you're faced with a situation with dire consequences? And the person most capable of helping you is a woman locked away in prison, for being an IRA enforcer, as in Irish Republican Army Enforcer.
When a child is kidnapped, a female FBI agent is faced with just that. Nevertheless, she begins the process of "breaking" the enforcer out of prison. While the rest of the world is on the hunt for the escaped prisoner, both women begin the hunt for the kidnapped child. Their investigation takes them into the world of the Irish community, who takes care of their "own", and where an old enemy awaits one of the women? Who is this enemy? Which woman is the target? What will happen when the women meet up with this enemy? Will they be able to discover and ultimately rescue the kidnapped child? As they uncover clues and the possible identity of the kidnapper, the two women begin to experience feelings for each other.
As the investigation proceeds and they spend more and more time together they, finally, acknowledge these feelings. Then other questions arise. Will the offer of freedom for the IRA enforcer allow them to have a future? What do they do if the unforeseen happens?
Travel along as the writer takes you on an intriguing journey filled with drama, suspense and at times, tearful moments and memories.
