5.0 out of 5 stars Another View, March 14, 2003

This review is from: Oculoplastic Surgery: The Requisites, 1e (Requisites in Ophthalmology) (Hardcover)
Although perhaps a bit folksy early on, this text does what surgical texts are supposed to do: anatomy, basic prinicipals, disease states, and then treatment alternatives with understandable and detailed explanations. As one who does only 50-75 plastic cases a year and is realtively isolated, this is the best general oculoplastic text I have found. Variously, anyone who can read, digest, and critique a 500+ page text overnight and at that find it too basic for daily use perhaps could, and definitely should, be writting us a better one...were the previous reader not anonymous I would be watching for it in print.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reads like a cookbook, November 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Oculoplastic Surgery: The Requisites, 1e (Requisites in Ophthalmology) (Hardcover)
Unfortunately, most of this text reads like a cookbook--first do step 1, then step 2, then step 3, and so on. Short on rationale or alternatives, it presents "stock" operations in a manner most appreciated by a beginner. I ordered this text, but then returned it a day later. If you've had any training in oculoplastic surgery and have even a small amount of experience, this is not the best text for you.
