only 6 other reviews as of 9-16-05?,
This review is from: Odd Fellows Rest (Audio CD)
Only other 6 reviews? Over 13 years and this is all the respect this album gets?
For those who have failed to add this to thier "metal collection", start reading now. I realize that all of you do not really appreciate metal. But for those who do, read. From the slow and melodic instrumental Intro, to "Planets Collide", to the trudging, kick you in the abdomen, let you get up and kick you again riffs from "December Spawn", this has to be a staple crop of any heavy metal farmer. Odd Fellows Rest will thrash you in your lower extremities and make you come back, begging for more. If your afraid to get up, fear not, for the title track "Odd Fellows Rest" is a trance setter of biblical proportions. Unfortunatley the following track "On frozen ground" will pile you deeper into the ground, with no air to breathe, thus suffocating the paltry amount of life left in you. Violent, and demonically lethargic powered chords drag you by your throat through the painful act of "Odd Fellows Rest". Just buy it.

You can't not like this album,

Can enough great things be said about this band? From the opening notes of the intro to the closing of Remember Tomorrow, this cd grabs you by the nuts and doesn't let go. Crowbar is one of the most talented bands out there. Sadly they don't get the recognition they deserve, but that seems to be all too common for the truly talented bands. Don't hesitate, BUY THIS NOW!

Named after a Cemetery,

This review is from: Odd Fellows Rest (Audio CD)
Just as a very tangential side note: Odd Fellows' Rest is the name of an especially atmospheric & decayed cemetery, complete with above groud tombs & crumbling walls, in New Orleans, La., Phil Anselmo's home town (& two minutes on the streetcar from my house). A very appropriate title for this dark music.
