2.0 out of 5 stars Oddballz aren't fun!
My daughter has the game Petz and Oddballz is way much more worse than that. There is no voice recomendation, no other play scenes than the play pen, no breeding, no clothes, I have talked to my daughter and I definately agree, This game is boring!

I have the demo version of oddballs, but I have managed to download all the Oddballz off the Internet. I have been dying to get this program for a long time, but I've never bothered. In this game, you get 13 Oddballz which you must care for as they grow into adults. There are several toys, including the transformer, which lets you turn your Oddballz into animals, the atomic ball, and the pop box, which lets you play music that your Oddballz can dance to. Each Oddball has its own poison, allergic, and favorite flavor for its food and treats. You can paint the Oddballz, too. Though you can only take one out at a time, the Oddballz do have crushes on each other. This is a great game that I would reccomend for young and old!

4.0 out of 5 stars Oddballz is a cool game but there is some stupid parts in it, February 27, 2002
This review is from: Oddballz (CD-ROM)
I like the game and everything but it gets kinda boring I think if they were ever to make a Oddballz 2 I would hope the would make it so the oddballz would interact with each other that's why I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars .But other then that it is a cool game ! BUY IT ! You wont regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars ODDBALLZ IS AWESOME!, October 15, 2005

ODDBALLZ IS PERFECT! So what if you can't put your oddballz in a hula dress? I bet you can't find any dogz or catz that explodes, transforms, bloats, shrinks, and dances! It's too bad that Ubi Soft threw the idea away and hasn't made "oddballz 2" or something.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesomely Odd, February 28, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Oddballz (CD-ROM)
When Tamagotchi first debuted, the idea spread like wildfire - apply a limited artificial intelligence to a virtual creature. With the obvious breeds (Catz and Dogz) already covered, it was inevitable that fantasy creatures would be turned into virtual pets. Thus, the creation of Oddballz: Your Collectible Computer Petz for all those folks who are neither cat or dog lovers.

Oddballz are more reminiscent of goofy cartoon characters than anything else and this resemblance is reinforced by the silly sounds the creatures make. They have an undeniably freakish appeal. There is a wide variety of Oddballz with more "hidden" creatures that can be collected from websites.

Some examples include the cheerful Dynaroo, a combination between a two-legged dinosaur and a kangaroo, the platypus-like Honker with a horn for a nose, the chatterbox Lips who looks like a weird little monkey dressed up as a mime and Modvark, an aardvark with a great sense of style. Quadrapus is the freakiest looking of the bunch with four limbs and not much else, Walret is a walrus-like beast with eyestalks who also happens to be dumb as rocks and Zott is a weird cross between an ant and a lightning bug. He's definitely the most high-strung of the Oddballz!

Oddballz personalities actually change as they age - younger creatures are more inquisitive and more easily frightened than more mature ones. They react in a cartoon-like fashion to their surroundings and different objects appear over their heads to communicate their feelings. Oddballz are extremely sensitive to colors and will react more positively or negatively to certain hues.

Each one of the creatures has a unique personality and special tricks learned over time. You can train your Oddballz using the character or stick method: they can be awarded grubs, which run haphazardly around the screen until the pet gobbles them up, or given "locopops" (bouncing lollipops that make Oddballz even nuttier) that come in a variety of flavors. Oddballz eat "liquifood" for sustenance, a sort of goopy-looking Jello.

For owners who prefer a sterner method of training these odd beasts, the Gravity Ball can be dropped - it scares the daylights out of the Oddballz and reinforces the unacceptability of certain behavior. Be careful not to drop it directly on the poor Oddballz or it will splatter them to the four-corners of your screen! The more direct approach is to freeze them with your sno-blaster and incapacitate them for a short time.

Oddballz can also be picked up like a cat or, for particularly mean owners, shaken. Shake them too much, though, and the creature may well explode. For entertainment, you can turn the lights out to see what your Oddballz do in the dark. They can play a "go fetch" game with the atomic ball (which has some strange effects of its own) and the Gravitron drags Oddballz and everything else on the screen to it.

Other features of play include the pop box that plays funky music that can be customized by the owner and, depending on the song, Oddballz will sing and dance to the beat. Then there's the Robo-Pogo, a strange pogo stick that some Oddballz use to hop around on and, finally, a transforming ray gun that turns the creatures into even weirder things.

There's also a screenshot function that allows you to take pictures of Oddballz in action. This feature isn't particularly innovative since pressing Alt + Print Scrn does the same thing but is handy for users who aren't Windows savvy. Additionally, the screen saver module showcases the little monsters at their best (and worst). Oddballz: Your Collectible Computer Petz provides hours of fun but they're not for everybody.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oddballz is...FUN!!!, July 20, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Oddballz (CD-ROM)
I love Oddballz. It's terrific. I like it because you take care of wacky Oddballz petz and find out about them. Then, you click the Magnafing Glass button to record your descoveries! But, not everyone likes Oddballz, including the company who now owns the world of Petz and the company who owns Petz owns Oddballz, because oddballz are a type of petz. People sometimes say in a rather mean way "It's not as good as Petz 4 & Petz 5!" in a way like "No voice recognization! No clothes! Oddballz is not fun!" and some you cannot tell, because they just say, "Oddballz sux!" a million times. Now, even Ubi Soft & Studio Mythos, don't take intrest. They don't have PF Magic's PetzMagic. They don't like it. To ungreatful people who don't like taking care of cute oddballz and explaining they don't in a MEAN way...hear me, BE GREATFUL & NICE. Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

4.0 out of 5 stars YAY FUN!, February 5, 2003

Ok, ... Oddballz has no "Voice recognition" or clothes because your daughter has Petz 4. Oddballz was made around the same time as Petz 1 and petz was like that without all the fancy stuff ... Oddballz is the coolest! IT HAS CRAAAZY PETS AND TOYS! It's a lot of fun, buy it now but if you're not sure go search on the internet for "Oddballz Demo" and get the demo to try it out. This is so FUN! (Note: I'm 12, so it's a kids review if you're getting it for your kid :)

I think that Oddballz is really cool. I don't own it yet but it sounds really cool to play. I can't wait to own something that I don't have to clean up after. No hiding aliens in my closet for me! I think that anyone would just fall in love with these wonderful creatures.
