Great album.,

I'll give this one 4 stars simply because although it is great, I don't find it quite as good as some of their past (and future) work. This album took a while to grow on me...it's pretty harsh. But when it did, I couldn't get enough of it. If you don't like it, give it time. It's much more alternative sounding in some parts, yet other parts are very heavy. As always, Dale's lyrics are deep and thought provoking. A favorite line of mine taken from Isaiah 64:7 is "If my sin remains I have chosen my God." I urge you to pull out the lyrics and read along while the music plays.

Not as good as their earlier recordings, but still good.,

In "Odditties", Bride turned from their traditional metal and went to a more alternative style. But it's good none the less. Dale Thompson's piercing voice and thought-provoking lyrics complement the music, making them a band that Christians and non-Christians would enjoy.

Anyone out there remember "Show No Mercy"? Well I've been listeneing to this group for 13 years, and this is one of their best. Dale Thompson probably screams more on this album than their last 7 or 8. I wish that they could get a core of guys to stick with the band for any length of time, but this album is definitely vintage Bride all the way...it needs to be played loud!

Oddities has something for everybody. hard rock or more modern.secular bands should take lessons from bride instead of recording songs that sound the same. Dale's lyrics are from the heart and it is obvious the band knows WHO they stand for.

This is Bride at its best. I' ve been a Bride fan since they appeared in the christian rock scene with their Metal Might song. Through the years they have changed a little their style accomodating to the current flow of music flavors but this is one of the albums that brings back the best from your beggining with the best from your years of experience. If you like great vocals with great guitar riffs that sound modern but not losing the intensity of the old days then oddities is for you. Enjoy.

With Bride having nine former albums under their belt, there was sure to be some anticipation for this release. One thing to describe Bride is they know how to ROCK. Low and crunch'n guitar tones tend to drive their music. This CD provides perhaps a more diverse Bride than previous releases however. You have everything from the traditional rock/metal singles to a more 90's Soundgarden/Alice in Chains sound. Overall, it is a release that is sure please the traditional rocker as well as those that appreciate the more mainstream alternative sound. The musical depth of the album is more apparent with each listen. Give it a listen and crank it up!
