THIS GAME FRICKIN' ROCKS A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Abe's Oddysee is a video game about a slave/worker in a meat factory on Oddworld, and you have to help him escape form his evil boss, Mullock. It's got a CRAPLOAD of obstacles and puzzles and devices and other places and characters you get to solve, work, visit, and meet! It is very challenging, especially having to get through the dogs and Paramites (*shiver*) and Scabs. THEY WILL KILL!
I haven't actually beat the game yet, but my cousin got me cheats that get me to different levels of the game! You'll become TOTALLY ADDICTED to this! :-D

If I could I would give this game 10 stars. It's my favorite computer game. You play Abe, a pathetic little mudokon with a destiny to save his race from becoming pie-filling. You work and puzzle your way through dangerous lands and incredible enviornments. Match wits with Scrabs, Sligs, Paramites and Slogs. A Must-have for any gamer.

I played it through a few times, and am now passing it down to my son for his birthday. It's lots of fun and challenging. Highly recommended for long-term fun.

Very Impressive,

An entertaining game with an engaging story and challenging puzzles. Will most likely be a favorite. Some warnings: Some puzzles can be extremely frustrating, no quicksave feature and while the good ending for rescuing more than half of the Mudokons won't disappoint, the ending for rescuing all 99 of the Mudokons is a bit of a letdown. However, well deserving of five stars for gameplay alone.

Excellent game. More challenging than Abe's Exoddus because you don't have a quick-save feature. You play as Abe and rescue your green friends while getting past the sligs, slogs, glukkons, scrabs, paramites, bombs, bats, bees....its always something that gets you by surprise. And you get Elum along the way (you can ride him or make him stay behind). The graphics are beautiful, the sound is great. In this game you have talk features that allow you to communicate with the other characters to accomplish your goals. If you don't have it yet, I highly recommend to get this game in your collection

A Must-Have for Teen Gamers,

This review is from: Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (Jewel Case) (CD-ROM)
A delightfully twisted game, Abe's Oddysee is a puzzle-adventure mix with everything a teen could ask for: gruesome scenes, malicious enemies, an actual plot (rare in most games these days!), and the ever-present possibility that you may explode if you make a wrong move. This game does have some downsides, however. There are only a few select save-sites throughout the game, making it hard to progress unless you have a great deal of time on your hands. Also, the puzzles require precise timing, which can result in a long hard slog to get back to your last place if you lose concentration. Other than and even including this, Abe's Oddysee is far-and-away the best game in the last thirteen years. Parents be warned, however; Abe's Oddysee is full of simulated gore and guts, and truly deserves it T rating. When anyone dies, the player is treated to a small splatter of body parts and blood, though this fades off after you escape Rupture Farms. If you decide that the levels of gore are fine, by all means, give this as a gift to a favorite relative- or hoard it for yourself.

I played this on the original PlayStation when it first came out. This is still a great game. I love the humor in it. Don't expect any great graphics out of this though. I was a little disappointed about the graphics. You have to remember that high graphics weren't what they are today. I don't have a PlayStation anymore so I bought the PC version and love it.

This one is for you, if you like oldies.
Great game, came out before Abe's Exoddus. It a bit harder that it's predecessor. I don't know though why was I sent 2 copies of this game(return was impossible, since I live on a different continent and other blah-blah :) ) Also, works on Vista Ultimate 32bit. |
