We purchased this shelf to go inside of a Tripp Lite Rack. We installed an Allworx phone system on it, which is lite, but this would work for heavier items also.

When I bought my rack shelves I was somewhat concerned that, at these prices, they would be maid from tin foil. Wrong! These shelves are bullet proof! Another reviewer stated that his measured less than 10 1/2 inches. Mine was slightly over 10 1/2 inches.

Gob some silicone rubber adhesive onto the feet of whatever you want to mount, scratch the metal on the shelf in these places, put the component down and 24 hours you have a solidly mounted item for your rack.

I added this to a TrippLite 4 post rack. The shelf is not very deep, but I was able to squeeze a 2-disk NAS, wi-fi router, cable modem, and a cable amplifier onto it. It feels solid
