Love Among The Ruins, February 29, 2000
This review is from: Odyssey (Black Lace) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is full of "love among the ruins" and other clichés, but it is still a fun read. This book also features a cruise where sexual games are afoot, antiquities smugglers, government agents, archeologists in and out of love and fascinating sexual encounters.
Rupert is a rake, no if ands buts or maybes. By taking a job on a cruise ship he can cover up his real interest in the rumored discovery of Trojan gold. He invites his protégé Merise on the ship to help. Rupert's plans change when he meets Julia, a young mousy archeologist on the cruise with her more outgoing archeologist "almost fiancé".
After convincing Julia to help look for the gold, Rupert enlists Merise in the job of turning the mouse into a sexual tiger. Julia is tired of her life and her boyfriend so she is ready for a little adventure. She finds it in her meetings with a criminal named Mabik. It seems Mabik has found the gold and Julia must get the location from him.
As Julia seduces Mabik, she is being watched by a government agent determined to make sure the treasure doesn't leave the country. He is not so sure of Julia's intentions and this causes problems for them both.
Full of hot and kinky sex, this book is a great read for a couple of hours in a warm bubble bath. Once you acclimatize yourself to the idea of sexy archeologists (could there be any after Indiana Jones?) the book moves at a steady pace. You might even be inspired to purchase a couple of masks for you and yours to play with.
