Like 'Seattle'(see my review),this 2-CD release documents a brilliant live performance by the former Can vocalist's band.Recorded during two gigs in September '99 in Tokyo.Nice intro to the fourteen-minute opener "Love Behind",as "Amazing" seems to have a bit of a psychedelic reggae beat to it.The chemistry works rather well.Another fourteen-minute epic "Walking On Fire" is a superb airy psych piece."Without Piano" is a mellow tune featuring good acoustic guitar work by Dominik Von Senger."Cyber Walk" and "Winner Writes History" simply displays some fine tripping Japanese cosmos.Disc two has four tracks,three of them run over twenty minutes."Planet Heartbreaker" is a bit eerie,starting off with some cool aimless way-out-there sound effects."Dance Of Thousand Tarantulas" is more upbeat."Every Side Open" is a great progressive rocker!Suzuki's vocals never sounded better.Notice that Pressurehed/Farflung's guitarist Tommy Grenas is on here,however he plays bass and synthesizer.No fan should be disappointed.Another exquisite packaging job of another Funfundvierzig label release.Recommended.

Try to imagine a very long jammed version of "Mother Sky" but without Czukay, Karoli, Liebezeit and Schmidt. Got it? Other CAN members realized a long time ago that they where running short of ideas. They then decided to explore rather different musical paths with more or less success. "Damo" Suzuki on the contrary, is one track minded and insists with the same formula only a "few" years later accompanied with a group of jammers that know very well CAN's repertoire.

The result however is not unpleasant, only too predictable. In the meantime, Suzuki is having a great party time!

I've seen Damo Suzuki twice & he absolutely gives his all live. Both times he played for about 2 & 1/2 hours & was absolutely soaked in sweat afterward yet went around & hugged audience members during the encore. A brilliant vocal improviser he sings mostly in nonsense stream of consciessness type lyrics. Anyway great melodic repetetive rock ala early CAN when Damo was in them. If you like that you'll like this.
