I did a lot of comparison shopping for this one.

The pedal board inside is slightly slanted, which I very much wanted.

The keyboard case foam has more bubbles in it and scratches easily.

Well like my title states it beats the pedal train hands down. First of its150 not 300, the pictures do it injustice, it is solid as heck. The interior board is a solid peice of wood but coated and braced in metal. The only thing I had to do was add some handles , easy to do, just go to your local hardware store. The exterior case could survive machine gun fire, it is built like a tour rig. Great product if I could I would rate it 7 stars

As the old saying goes, "Light, Cheap, Durable - you can only pick two." I love effects pedals and I'm a bass / synth player. I needed something big that I could wire up once and not have to take 20 minutes to re-wire, as I have a Boss RC-300 Loop Station, a small Soundcraft Notepad124FX 4-input Audio Mixer with Effects, A Roland GAIA SH-01, and Akai Pro MINIAK Virtual Analog Synthesizer with Vocoder that I sometimes bring to a rehearsal/jam. Sometimes I wish I'd just stuck with the mouth harp, but I love tweaking pedals and shaking the floor. I already own two of the Odyssey cases for 37-key keyboards:Odyssey FZKB37 Flight Zone Universal 37 Note Keyboard Ata Case and so I know what kind of quality to expect from Odyssey. I find that I like the foam rubber material in this pedal case better than the foam in the keyboard case. This rubber is much more sturdy. The keyboard case foam has more bubbles in it and scratches easily. There is egg-crate foam on the top of the case as well. There is a compartment on the side for cables and other accessories. The joints and braces on my case are put together well with no sharp edges.Read more ›

Pros:
-Durable, tornado proof case. I'm sure I could drop this down a few flights of stairs and everything inside would be fine.
-The pedal board inside is slightly slanted, which I very much wanted.
-Comes with enough velcro to mount your gear down. And the velcro can be removed from the pedal board without leaving behind any glue residue. (this is a major plus for me)
-Plenty of room on the right side of the case for cable storage/other guitar accessories.

Cons:
-Heavy with gear inside. Like, 70+ pounds with my gear.
-Unable to carry for long periods, because of its weight.
-The wheels on the bottom are pretty much worthless, unless you're inside and there are smooth flat surfaces. They are made of plastic and not rubber. So gravel and concrete/cement will ruin the wheels and the bottom of the case... almost instantly.
-Did I mention it was heavy?

Overall, I'm pleased with the case and I'm going to keep it. I just wished it wasn't soo heavy... and that the wheels were slightly bigger and made of rubber, not plastic.

You can use this case as a replacement for a pedal train pro if needed. I just needed an extra hard case for my pedal train pro and this thing did the trick absolutely perfectly. A++

I did a lot of comparison shopping for this one. Obviously, the Pedaltrain with the soft case is at a similar price, but this is a rolling hard case. Big plus for the Odyssey. Also, the Pedaltrain at a similar price isn't as big as this monster! I also looked at Rondo Music, but their offering was quite a bit smaller--too small for my setup.

Also, I really like the laminate-covered plywood in the Odyssey. I went to the bicycle-chain-link attachment method (Velcro was detaching when the board was stored vertically), and it's a snap to drill in the wood screws with this one. Self-tapping sheet metal screws would need to be used on the Pedaltrain. I've also been putting together parts to raise up the front to fit a BBE Supa Charger underneath (doesn't fit with stock feet) and some other goodies like power outlets and inlets, a grommet for wiring between bottom and top, and a small patch bay for quick setup. The construction of this makes all of these customizations (including the top reviewer's suggestion for hardware store handles) all very easy.

LOTS of Velcro comes included. 'Course, I've almost completely abandoned it in favor of the bicycle chain links, as I said (got the chain links, chain tool [Schwinn brand] and stainless steel wood screws here on Amazon).

I love the side storage compartment for cables and such. I store a lot of backup stuff, power strips, DC power cables, etc. in there.

Plus, this thing is built like a tank. Read: "heavy." Yes, it's a beast, but I don't mind when it's keeping my big-time investment in pedals safe.

Very well made board! Low profile and durable. The velcro that it comes with is a little weak and I installed handles for easier transport. The case is really the best part of the deal as that's what Odyssey does best. The board fits well inside and it has foam for protection. The only drawback is that with a full pedalboard inside the case it weighs well over 50 lbs. Good thing it has wheels and two handles!
