Actually have not installed these. I ordered finding them after I made a temporary repair. They will work perfect though when I do install. They are as advertised and will fit my 2000 Dodge Dakota 4X4. I had needed the parts and took what was left of original to compare sizes etc, and found similar at the local hardware store. I had to cut to fit the ones from the hardware store with my pocket knife to have the same middle groves on the outside, but otherwise was pretty much the same grommet. Bought at hardware store for $1.25 each. Temporary repair now is on better than 6 or so months in use and still works. Been in 4 wheel drive plenty of times this winter. I keep the ones bought here in the glove box for when the hardware store home made ones decide to fail. Also found later that the local dodge dealership had these in stock. They were not as expensive as thought. Auto mechanic friend had same issue on a customers and bought at the dealership for less money I spent. Keep that in mind.

This grommet works on my 2000 Dakota 4x4 SLT daily driver with 345,000 miles on it. Original motor, tranny and air compressor but I'm on my second grommet, go figure.
You will note that the only thing keeping the grommet from pulling entirely through the transfer case lever hole is a about 2mm of width on the outside 'washer' of the grommet. That washer part should be considerably larger for best peace of mind; it would add mere pennies to the cost, C'MON Mopar! Anyhow, I secured mine with tie wire to prevent it from pulling through.
Also, I HIGHLY recommend boiling the grommet for 10-15 minutes before trying to push the rod through it, otherwise your blood will be boiling with frustration.

This is the bushing needed for the linking rod from transfer case to the shifter. I used it for a 2000 Durango. I tried putting them in without removing the shifter. It was a pain. Removed the shifter and they went in easily.
