I ordered two of these wine racks to hang above a bar cabinet I had recently purchased. They shipped quickly, and they arrived well-packed and undamaged.
However, when I proceeded to mount the racks to the wall, two rather significant issues became immediately apparent. First, even though I took tremendous care to drill the mounting holes level, inconsistencies in the manufacturing of the two racks resulted in the front of one of the racks appearing about a half inch higher than the other... they're mounted right next to each other (basically forming one long shelf/rack), so this inconsistency resulted in a very tacky appearance. I compensated somewhat by filing out one of the mounting holes to lower the shelf, but it's still not as close as I'd like.
The second issue I encountered was that the drywall anchors included with the units were grossly insufficient... while they seemed to do a reasonable job of supporting the weight of the rack, they started to pull out from the wall once I placed 2 bottles of wine on the shelf - adding a third would certainly have resulted in disaster. $6 at the Home Depot for two pair of 100 lb. drywall anchors remedied this, and I'm now quite happy with the result... however, in my opinion it's almost inexcusable to include insufficient anchors for a shelf meant to be anchored to drywall and to bear the weight of 6 fragile and potentially expensive bottles of wine. At best, this is a nuisance... at worst, the falling wine rack could result in some serious personal injury.
So, bottom line - this is a stylish solution for adding additional wine and stemware storage to your home. However, definitely plan on purchasing some more substantial drywall anchors before trying to hang this shelf.
