The spaces are too small for many syrah bottles or anything that has a larger base than your standard wine bottle.

Yes, it only accepts the "standard" size wine bottle. However, we were very pleased with both the appearance and solid construction of the rack and are very happy with it. Also takes up very little space on your counter top.

The wine rack is very nice and sturdy. It is solidly constructed. It will hold standard sized bottles only, 1.5l and wide bottles will not fit.
