Editorial Reviews

Formed in 2003, Dirty Sweet found an immediate audience of rock-loving fans just months after their inception, touring as main support for Jimmy Eat World. Their reputation spread further when British magazine NME referred to the group as, "The mighty Dirty Sweet," and declared the band was, "getting ready to go mega with their skuzzy, ass-shaking rawk n' roll." Winning the award for Best New Rock & Roll Band at the 2005 San Diego Music Awards, as well as their tireless performances to packed houses further encouraged the group to begin recording their debut. And here it is ...Of Monarchs and Beggars. Digipak.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best San Diego Band Ever July 15, 2007
Format:Audio CD
I 1st saw this band opening for "The Killers" in April 2007 and they absolutely "Stole the show". That night I bought 2 CD's at the end of their set. If you love Classic rock, Original Lyrics and music then this is truly a must have CD. Their music is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, Lynard Skynard, Aerosmith, Motley Crue and Ac/Dc, to name just a few. Their music and style are absolutely incredible and their sound is their own and fresh. "Dirty Sweet" brings it all to this CD. From the first track to the last you will be awed. I have seen them play Live 3 times and can not get enough. This San Diego band is the best I have ever seen or heard! Dirty Sweet is about to take over the music world as we know it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dirty Sweet Saves Rock & Roll May 16, 2007
Format:Audio CD
Dirty Sweet has a natural gift for paying homage to the roots of great rock & roll while creating something new and exciting. The music is not contrived, and having seen them live (one of the best shows I've seen in years) can say that they do it purely for the love of music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shake That Thang February 28, 2008
Format:Audio CD
As debuts go this is impressive and on this form things headed in the right direction. Written and produced by the band themselves they deliver a crisp, balls out high tempo rock record with a tasty garage/country cocktail to cross over several billboards. It's produced well giving this long play a 'live sound' and steering well away from all the masses over production jiggery-pokery.

In the family tree of things the Black Oak Arkansas/Grand Funk Railroad/Black Crowes siblings are a chip off the old block. Word round the camp fire is that the live shows are tremendous and the potential this record shows dictates that here is a band which is only going to get better and better.

By Parth
Format:Audio CD
If you're in search of a classic rock sound not from a cover band, some guy over 60, or guys who jam for 3 hours without singing, you should give this record a spin. New Band, great sound, a strong root in classic rock, a ton of energy, and original songs.
