A complex chain of events is put in place when Joe agrees to help out a good friend who's a policeman by taking his place at an audition for the cop's annual benefit show. Once at the auditions, Joe falls for Rachel, who will be dancing in the benefit. Joe starts hanging out with the choreographer in order to spend more time with Rachel. Meg Tilly sitting in a chair reading the newspaper for an hour and a half gets 3 stars from me so anything that she's in starts from there. This is an okay story, plot, etc but not the best to be honest. She's done better movies but this one's not bad and she does get a good amount of screen time. It will keep you entertained and if you're a fan of Meg Tilly, you'll like it.

Judge Reinhold and Meg Tilly star in this great off beat comedy about a make-believe Cop who gets into all types of mischief.It's a must see movie!!

"Off Beat" is one of those rare comedies that manages to be silly without being stupid - not an easy task. Meg Tilly is wonderful as always - and Judge Reinhold is good as well. I hope some more people discover this little gem.
