Nothing about the quilts in Off Center Patchwork is difficult. Blocks still have straight seams and easy to cut and assemble patches. Use traditional colors for a traditional-with-a-twist look or experiment with some of the bright, unconventional fabrics on the market today. The possibilities are endless, and the end results are amazing. You'll recognize old friends like Rail Fence, Nine-Patch, Friendship Star, Jacob's Ladder, Double Dutch, Churn Dash, Bear's Paw, and many more in over a dozen exciting quilt projects. AUTHORBIO: Trained in architectural engineering, Cheryl started quilting as a hobby in 1982. She turned to quilting as a profession in 1990. Since then she has designed and made quilts for fabric companies and quilting magazines. She enjoys designing quilts and drafting the patterns, which she finds easy because of her educational training. For the past six years, she has taught classes in local quilt shops and guilds. REVIEW: The concept here is to redraw traditional block lines so that the divisions are no longer of equal size and the center is, well, not at the center. In this incarnation, the blocks are still laid out in straight lines, planting the feet of these bent blocks in cement so there is little life or excitement in the quilts. Especially amazing was the 54-40 or Fight quilt....
