Confirmed with SC Johnson that the product is intended for use when you are sitting still. Probably works fine for that. But I bought thinking it was OK to use while I was walking the dogs at the outdoor dog park. Nope. So avoid my mistake: buy only if you plan to sit still on the deck, at the beach, in the park.

This product is an excellent item for use when outside in the summer. We recently took several of these with us when we went on vacation to Southeast Missouri, and they worked great. While others without them we being bitten throughout the evening, those of us wearing the clip-on devices did not have any problems what-so-ever. I would highly recommend this product.

I bought the clip on for my vacation camping in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains where it was very buggy this year. Im not sure how much the clip on helped but you can only use them sitting still which was ok but if you are active this product wont work for you. I used it sitting by the tailer and campfire. I guess if you are fishing you could use it standing still but it might scare the fish away from the smell of bug repellent. The one really nice thing about this product is how long it lasts, since it only works while you stand still for more than 2-3 minuets the inserts lasted a long time. I bought 6 refills but only used 1 insert in 7 days. Each insert lasts 12 hours so sitting around the camp it really lasted a long time. The other nice thing was the inserts last 2 years left in the package so I only used one and have plenty for the next 2 years, just dont take them out of the package you have to use them within 30 days. I thinks this product is worth the money although I had massive amounts of bug spray on and still got bit 15+ times yuck! All though they dont specify what the range on the protection is but it did seem to keep the mosquitos away from the immediate area.

I used this while working outdoors on plumbing, also had a large fan blowing air through the area. No mosquitos bothered me.

When it ran out after 2 days (and I could not find my refills), I used repellent spray and was continually battling mosquitos.

So, all I can say is it works better than repellent spray, I'm not covered with oily toxins, and I'm buying a refill pack and hopefully will remember where I keep it this time.

I was HIGHLY sceptical of this product but for the price I was willing to try this out. That was last year and I am now buying two more for the rest of my family. These things rock!

Clip to your belt and you are good to go or when I am sitting at the campfire I just clip it to my chair. No buzzing and no bites.

For the other people who complain that it doesn't work while moving around a lot, I just have to say that simple common sense should tell you that. This product is great and it keeps you from having to smear strong chemicals all over your body and stinking the rest of the day.

This product was hard to find and I was excited that Amazon had it. Living in NY and on Long Island put me in the heart of West Nile Virus area. I love to sit outside and enjoy the summer evenings and was missing it due to the mosquitos. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK. While wearing the apparatus on my hip, a mosquito perched itself on my shoulder and gave me a tremendous bite. It was very disappointing to say the very least and a complete failure at the very most.

I bought this and clipped it onto my chair at a campsite in south Alabama. So there was no problem with me moving around. But I am completely covered in bites. I think this was worse than a citronelle candle. No help at all, complete waste.

Highly recommended! I won't go camping or outside in a place/time where mosquitos would be, without this engenious device. I used this all summer and never received one mosquito bite while this was in use. (One refill lasts me for several days. Watch the green liquid in the window.) This replaces lathering up in poison sprays. I have one other clip-on that I bought at the grocery store, which is grey. It is less noticable than the bright blue.

get rid of those buzzing beasts.

Got a new patio set and was looking for a way to enjoy it in my buggy backyard. Took a chance on the Off Clip-On Mosquito Repellent. Put it together, turned it on (fan worked), sat outside, and waited several minutes for the fan to spread the repellent. I got 4 mosquito bites the first night, and five more when I tried again tonight. I wanted it to work, but it looks like I'm back to bug spray.
