LindaZ: This was my first book by Mark Young. I came to read it from Amazon's recommendations. I just could not put the book down. It reminded me of a Jeffrey Deaver thriller. I was sorry to see the book end and anxiously wait for the next book. After I finished it I went back and read Revenge by Mark Young and thoroughly enjoyed that book too. I love his characters and his scenery descriptions make you feel like you are part of the place. Young is on my favorite list of authors.

AvidReader: I could not put this book down! Even sleep deprived (with a two-week-old baby at home), I gave up sleep to keep reading. I could not figure out who was good and who was evil until the very last chapter, and even then the surprise twist threw me for a loop! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys stretching their mind and learning about the new information technologies that are present in the world today, and are being built for the world tomorrow. Great read!!
Mystery Lover: This was a great book! Once I downloaded it to my Kindle, I could not put it down. It was exciting, suspenseful, and scary, all at the same time. I cannot wait until the sequel comes out.

Loved it!! This book tells a fictional story, but the author, Mark Young, totally convinced me that it could, and maybe will happen, although that may have not been his intent. He made me aware of the potential uses, good and bad, of technology. Found myself reading as fast as I could to see what happened next. Was so well written that I actually understood what was being explained about the computers, and loved the element of surprise when the traitors were revealed. The only disappointment in the whole experience is that I eventually came to the last page. Can't wait to read more of "Mr.G"!!

Mark does a great job in weaving and exciting story and incorporating positive Christain viewpoints. I can't seem to find many books like this out there that are Christian based and really great read. I've also read Mark's first book, Revenge, and would recommend this as well.

I had high hopes for this book before starting. It sounded good from the description. Once I got into it, it just became a fight to get through it. Cliched characters, painful dialogue, and obvious errors in the text ("...as he peered around the 'coroner'"?)made this a slog. It's too bad; the story idea is an interesting one. I won't keep reading this series.

I rarely write poor reviews but I'll make an exception for this book. I struggled to get to 17% read before giving up. Poorly drawn out characters that I didn't care about or believe, poorly executed dialogue, and a plot seen dozens of times (ex-military, wronged man works to right the world by undertaking a secret mission). I live for that genre, but this did not work for me.

It only took several pages to realize that Mark Young is a talented writer and storyteller. In Off the Grid, the author has done a marvelous job of creating a story that might very well be a harbinger of things to come. Gritty, intense and suspenseful, the tale takes the reader around the globe, offering an inside look at a few of the world's security forces. It also illustrates how technology can be just as deadly as a nuclear attack.

The book's protagonist, Gerrit O'Rourke, is believable and quite a likeable character. Mr. Young has carefully developed O'Rourke into a more than capable hero, yet one who has his shortcomings, elements that endear readers to him. I found myself cheering for O'Rourke as he confronted what only could be described as pure evil.

The book moves quickly and has more twists and turns than an amusement park ride. Not much is predictable, which makes the story one that readers will have difficulty in putting down. I thoroughly enjoyed Off the Grid--Mark Young has penned a fantastic thriller.
