Good overview of Office 2007,

This review is from: Office 2007 Bible (Paperback)
This book provides a good overview of the Office 2007 suite, and the chapters cover the basics of each program (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) quite well. However, one book can only cover so much, and this book never really goes into the depth in any particular program that a hardcore user would need. Thus, the utility of this book depends on your level of knowledge - this book is great for the casual or beginner. If you have already mastered the basics, then you will probably need to get specific books for each program and skip summaries like this.

I recently upleveled to Office 2007 from Office 2003. I really like the new version of Office but there were many features that were difficult to find in Office Help. The Bible allows me to quickly locate the information that I need.
A very good document.

Well Worth the Money,
By Susan H (Norman Oklahoma) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Office 2007 Bible (Paperback)
I purchased this book as I rather like having a book I can search through rather than going through Microsoft Office help. Although it "helps", I found myself printing too many pages and with this book, I have everything I need right beside me on my desk. Everything you really need is in this book, and I would highly recommend it.

The Office 2007 Bible is a well - written comprehensive and compact reference book, which gives both overview and a lot of details, including new features. I can recommend it to Office users on any level of practice.

good but not bible,
This review is from: Office 2007 Bible (Paperback)
Good book for beginners but it cannot be compared to a bible type book. There are several (A LOT of) features missing which leaves anyone looking for a little more than a basic tutorial a little disappointed. A good read for learners though.

Very fine book for Office 2007 -- also good service from Amazon which has been what I have always had from them.

As an experienced Word user I expected detailed, focused instructions for Word 2007. This book delivers only "cute" comments and generalized overviews.

This book would be great for a newcomer, not to Office 2007, but to Office in general. If you really want to know how the applications in the Office suite work, you'll need to get the individual books for Word, Excel, Access, etc. This book is by no means a "Bible". I think if they sold it as a "primer", it would be more accurate.

Not a real Office 2007 Bible,

This is a basic book. It is not a real Office 2007 Bible. I was very disappointed. It does not cover any medium to advanced topics such as the MS Excel vLookup function or MS Excel Lookup tables and their use. The information contained is this book would be good for someone who has never used MS Office, but a waste of money to those who have are advanced users.

I upgraded from Office 2000 to 2007 and the new program is a lot easier to figure out, even without a book. I had hoped to find more detailed answers than I have yet found in the book. It is an excellent resource for the new user or anyone who wants to find their way around this program but I wish it had included more details.
